World rabies day was observed on 28-09-2026 at the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Dhubri. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Debomay Sanyal, Chairman, Dhubri Municipal Board; Dr Jyoti Kr. Das, Joint Director, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dhubri.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Saurabh Borgohain, Dist. A. H. & Vety. Officer, Dhubri and attended by Dr. Ashique Iqbal, SDVO, Dhubri; Dr. Anjan Jyoti Sharma, ARO, Dhubri, along with VOs/BVOs, departmental staff, pet parents and farmers of the Dhubri District. This year's theme "Stronger Together" highlighting the importance of the collaborative approach of the Veterinary and health department, communities, pet owners and local bodies to eliminate rabies was discussed in detail. The event concluded with an awareness and vaccination program of dogs at different dispensaries of the district.

পশুধন সুৰক্ষিত হ’লে সুৰক্ষিত হ’ব পৰিয়ালৰ জীৱিকা— এই কথা আমি গভীৰকৈ অনুভৱ কৰোঁ। আমাৰ কৃষক-পশুপালকসকলৰ পৰিশ্ৰমৰ মূল্য আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ জীৱিকাৰ সুৰক্ষাৰ প্ৰতি লক্ষ্য ৰাখি অসমত আৰম্ভ কৰা হৈছে পশুধন বীমা সেৱা। গৰু-ম’হ, ছাগলী, ভেড়া আৰু গাহৰিক বীমাৰ আওতালৈ অনাৰ লগতে মুঠ প্ৰিমিয়ামৰ ৮৫% চৰকাৰী ৰাজসাহায্য হিচাপে প্ৰদান কৰা হৈছে। অৰ্থাৎ কৃষকে বহন কৰিব লাগিব মাত্ৰ ১৫% প্ৰিমিয়াম। পশুপালনৰ সৈতে জড়িত আমাৰ প্ৰতিটো পৰিয়ালৰ উপাৰ্জন আৰু ভৱিষ্যৎ অধিক সুৰক্ষিত কৰাৰ দিশত এয়া আমাৰ এক বিশেষ পদক্ষেপ।

A district-level awareness programme on Artificial Insemination (AI) and allied activities under ALDA-RGM was organised by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Dhubri, on 1st September, 2026 at the Community Hall, Block Development Office, Agomani.

The programme was graced by Sri Aswini Ray Sarkar, the Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, and Sri Manash Bordoloi, Assistant Commissioner, Co-District Golakganj, Dhubri.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Saurabh Borgohain, District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer (DVO), Dhubri, and attended by Dr. Ashique Iqbal, SDVO, Dhubri; Dr. Dipankar Das, APDO, Dhubri; Dr. Mainul Hoque, APO, Dhubri, alongwith VOs/BVOs, departmental field staff, MAITRIs, Gopal Mitras, and Pashu Sakhis of the Dhubri district.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 participants, including progressive farmers, livestock owners and local community members of the area. The programme served as an important aspect for creating awareness among farmers about the benefits of artificial insemination, genetic improvement in cattle, enhanced milk production, access to superior germplasm, and adoption of scientific breeding practices for sustainable livestock development under the Rastriya Gokul Mission.

The event was successfully concluded with active participation and ardent support from the farming community, marking an important initiative towards enhancing Artificial Insemination services and improving dairy productivity in Dhubri District.

A Treatment cm Artificial Insemination Awareness camp was successfully organized at Bishkhowa Pt III under Golakganj Revenue Circle on 21st August, 2026 by Dr. Prince Boro, BVO, BVD, Golakganj under the supervision of Dr. Saurabh Borgohain, DVO, Dhubri.

The camp aimed at providing doorstep veterinary healthcare, boosting livestock productivity through Artificial Insemination, and generating awareness on scientific animal rearing practices among farmers.

During the camp, a total of *1432 animals* were treated.

Besides treatment, farmers were educated on benefits of Artificial Insemination for enhanced milk production and superior germplasm; importance of regular vaccination, deworming and balanced feeding; hygienic management and prevention of seasonal diseases.

The camp witnessed active participation from local livestock farmers. Free medicines were distributed among the beneficiaries.

An Animal Health & Treatment cm Vaccination Camp was successfully organized at Bhogdanga, near the International Border, in collaboration with BSF, BOP Keddar on 28-07-2026.

The camp was organized by Dr. Prince Boro, BVO, BVD, Golakganj under the overall supervision of Dr. Saurabh Borgohain, DVO, Dhubri and Dr. Ashique Iqbal, SDVO, Dhubri.

During the camp, livestock were examined, treated and vaccinated on the spot. Farmers were also counselled on scientific rearing, disease prevention and timely vaccination. As a part of the initiative, a total of 25 nos. of cattle were newly tagged and registered under the livestock identification programme.

The active support of BSF, BOP Keddar and the enthusiastic participation of border area farmers made the camp a success.

On the occasion of District Day, Dhubri, an anti-rabies vaccination drive was successfully conducted in the Dhubri Municipality Area under Rabies Control Programme on 01-07-2026 to promote animal health and prevent the spread of Rabies. A total of 18 nos. of stray dogs were vaccinated. This initiative will create a safer community for both human as well as animals by reducing the incidence of Rabies related cases and deaths in near future.

A Pashu Swasthya Shibir was successfully organised at Adabari GP on 12.03.2026, where the farmers were made aware about the care and management of livestock, importance of animal tagging and registration and correction of Aadhar in the Bharat Pashudhan App. The importance of timely vaccination and deworming of the livestock, artificial insemination (using both conventional and sex-sorted semen) and other departmental activities were discussed precisely with the farmers. Along with that, treatment was given to 172 no.s of cattle, 76 no.s of goats and 202 no.s of poultry, and L*D vaccination was also given to 93 no.s of cattle.

Participated in the 2-day KISAN MELA 2026, organized by the Department of Agriculture under CSS-ATMA,Dhubri on February 2nd and 3rd,2026,at the District Agriculture Office.Special thanks to our DVO sir for his advice,support and suggestions,which made the exhibition a grand success.Also thank you to everyone who directly or indirectly contributed to the event.Many thanks to all the farmers-without your support,it wouldn't have been possible.
