: A moving, funny, and absolutely relatable read, especially for new fathers and mothers, this book is a delight. They say that books come to you when you need them the most. And something similar happened to me here. I picked this book up randomly, as my first read postpartum, and it was what I needed the most. Jiyoung's navigation through motherhood made me laugh, cry, think, pause and reflect. And the brilliant writing style, where the author merges the facts with the fiction was like a slap on the face, but ever so gently. This book will make you squirm and smile, all at once. Strongly recommend!
Book Title: Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982
Author: Cho Nam-Joo

Did you know that September 15th is celebrated all over the world as the 'International Dot Day'? Well, now you know! :)
It was just another excuse for us to read one of our most favourite (and also the one with many gold and silver stars!) books The Dot all over again in our reading club yesterday, and we topped it off with a 'Make Your Mark' group activity. How did you celebrate the day? (Tell us in comments!)

'The Day The Crayons Quit' is one of our most loved books, across all batches and age groups. It's always exciting for us to see the little readers absolutely thrilled with the idea of exasperated crayons expressing themselves through the near-forgotten practice of letter writing. It's also super inspiring to see each batch and each child taking away something totally unique and create their own meanings out of this adorable story.
Seen here are some of the children from our weekend morning batch with their creation of crayons as animate characters, including Purply Pie, Reddie Teddie, Barbie and Tashi.

"Evolution is a tinkerer." - Francis Jacob
And our young readers are tinkerers too, when it comes to rules. Throwback to the day when Sneha got mighty upset with the constant fidgeting and hopping of her batchmates, and demanded to add one more rule to our list - Sit Properly! And after having a consensus from the group, she went ahead and penned it down on our rules poster. 😁
