**Strengthening Gujarat's Skill Ecosystem through Strategic Partnerships**

On the occasion of **World Youth Skills Day 2026**, Gujarat Skill Development Mission exchanged two important Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the presence of **Shri Lochan Sehra, IAS, Secretary, Labour, Skill Development & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat**.

The collaborations include:

📘 **Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU)** – To integrate higher education with vocational education, strengthen Government skill development programmes, promote internships and apprenticeships, enhance employability, and support innovation, digital learning, and quality assurance.

👩‍💼 **IPE Global** – A non-financial collaboration to strengthen women's economic empowerment through skill development, gender-inclusive employment practices, technical assistance, awareness generation, and improved programme implementation.

These strategic partnerships reinforce Gujarat's commitment to creating an inclusive, innovative, and industry-aligned skill development ecosystem that empowers youth and contributes to sustainable economic growth.

🏅 **Celebrating Excellence on World Youth Skills Day 2026!**

On the occasion of **World Youth Skills Day**, Gujarat Skill Development Mission proudly felicitated the National Winners of the **IndiaSkills Competition 2025–26** in the august presence of **Shri Lochan Sehra, IAS, Secretary, Labour, Skill Development & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat**.

Gujarat has achieved an outstanding **5th Rank at the National Level**, bringing immense pride to the State through the remarkable performance of its talented youth.

Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration for a Skilled Gujarat

The Directorate of Skill Development and the Directorate of Employment & Training, Government of Gujarat, successfully organized the Industry–Academia & Sector Skill Councils Outreach Programme on 2nd July 2026 at Ahmedabad.

The programme witnessed an overwhelming participation of 282 representatives from industries, industry associations, universities, academic institutions, employers, and sector skill councils.

Key highlights of the event:
✅ Introduction to the Namo Gujarat Kaushalya and Rojgar Mission (NGKRM), PM-SETU, and the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme.
✅ Exchange of 4 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
✅ Meaningful discussions on skill development, apprenticeship opportunities, and creating an industry-ready workforce.

Together, we are building stronger partnerships to create greater employment opportunities and empower Gujarat's youth with future-ready skills.
