As part of Semicon India 2025, a 46-member Japanese delegation led by JBIC and JETRO visited Dholera SIR.
The visit began at the Water Treatment Plant, where they were introduced to Dholera’s advanced water infrastructure, followed by a tour of the Canal Front Development that showcased the city’s growing social infrastructure.
The delegation also explored Torrent’s power substation, gaining insights into the robust and redundant power systems in place. The tour concluded at the iconic ABCD Building with an immersive experience at the Experience Zone and CIOC.
Such visits reflect the rising global interest in Dholera SIR and further strengthen international collaboration towards building India’s first Semicon City.

As part of his mission to strengthen Indo–Japan collaboration in the semiconductor sector, Mr. Sasaki Jun, Vice Governor of Iwate Prefecture, visited Dholera SIR along with a delegation from JICA. The visit underscored Gujarat’s robust ecosystem to support the upcoming semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera.
Mr. Sasaki reviewed the world-class infrastructure of Dholera SIR, including road, water, and power networks, and also visited the under-construction semiconductor fabrication plant of TEPL. His interactions with officials from DICDL, GSEM, and TEPL focused on exploring opportunities for partnership in skill development and technology cooperation—key enablers for building a resilient semiconductor ecosystem.
We were honoured to host Mr. Sasaki and his team, and we look forward to fostering Indo–Japan partnerships that will accelerate the semiconductor journey for both nations.

DICDL was privileged to host Mr. Koji Yagi, Consul General of Japan, at Dholera. His visit marks yet another milestone in strengthening Indo-Japanese collaboration for the development of Dholera Industrial Smart City.
At the Experience Centre, Mr. Yagi was presented with an overview of the Dholera Special Investment Region, highlighting its progress, current developments, and upcoming connectivity projects.
The visit further included a tour of the Activation Area, with site interactions at the upcoming semiconductor fabrication facility, social infrastructure projects, the effluent treatment plant, and the power substation.
As the ecosystem continues to take shape to support industrial growth, the keen interest and engagement from Japan reaffirms the strong synergy and shared vision between the two nations.

We had the distinct honour of welcoming H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India, along with a high-level delegation of over 60 distinguished members to Dholera – India’s first Semicon City.
The two day engagement commenced with a warm and insightful dinner hosted by JBIC, where presentations and exchanges were held in the presence of eminent speakers including H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi, Ms. Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, DST, Mr. Rajat Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, Mr. Rajkumar Beniwal, CEO, DSIRDA along with leadership from JBIC, JETRO and TATA. These conversations laid the foundation for deeper engagement and mutual cooperation between India and Japan in the smart infrastructure and semiconductor space.
The following day, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of Dholera’s state-of-the-art infrastructure. The visits included discussions at Water Treatment Plant, Canal Front Development, Power Substation, the Command and Control Centre (CIOC), and the Experience Centre at the ABCD Building - witnessing firsthand the scale, planning, and future-readiness of Dholera.
A key highlight was their visit to the upcoming TATA Semiconductor Fabrication Plant, where an engaging and forward-looking discussion was held with TATA officials on the roadmap for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
As part of the visit, H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi also inaugurated the AJU Cafeteria at the ABCD Building, Dholera - a symbolic step toward cultural integration and hospitality.
We sincerely thank JBIC and JETRO for their continued collaboration and commitment. Dholera SIR remains committed to strengthening India–Japan ties through shared ambition, innovation, and infrastructure-led partnerships.

Dr P.K.Mishra, Principal Secretary to Hon'ble PM, visited Dholera SIR to review the progress of key infrastructure projects including Ahmedabad - Dholera Expressway, Dholera International Airport, Tata's Semiconductor Fabrication facility and the upcoming social infrastructure projects.
During the meeting with concerned officials, he emphasized the importance of global benchmarks, timely execution and integrated planning, which reaffirms the commitment to build Dholera as India's pioneering semicon city.
Dr. Mishra was accompanied by Shri Tarun Kapoor, Advisor to the Hon'ble PM.

Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, visited Dholera SIR along with senior officials from the state government and reviewed the ongoing projects.
At the ABCD building, Hon'ble CM held discussions with key stakeholders including the team of Tata electronics and NHAI, reviewing progress on major social infrastructure projects and the upcoming expressway.
The delegation visited the Activation area of Dholera SIR, including the upcoming semiconductor fabrication site, multi speciality hospital, fire station, integrated school, residential facilities, hotel, guest house, international tent city and the food court. Discussions at the respective sites covered the features of the facilities.
The tour concluded at the Dholera International Airport with insights into the upcoming infrastructure and development progress.
The visit by Hon'ble CM offered valuable guidance to all stakeholders on the road ahead.

Delighted to host Mr. Jerome Wong, Consul (Political), Singapore, at Dholera SIR.
His visit included an insightful tour of the Experience Centre and CIOC at the ABCD Building, along with a detailed discussion on the master planning and ongoing development of Dholera SIR.
Mr. Wong explored the Activation Area to assess infrastructure readiness in light of TSMPL’s upcoming semiconductor fabrication plant. He also visited key utility sites, including the power substation and CETP, reaffirming the robustness of Dholera’s water and power infrastructure.
In addition to the site visit, Mr. Wong engaged in strategic discussions with Dr. Kuldeep Arya, IAS, Managing Director, DICDL, and Mr. Rushin Bhatt, GAS, General Manager – Corporate, Commercial & HR, DICDL. The meeting explored opportunities for future collaborations with Singapore in building a thriving semiconductor ecosystem.
