In response to the proposal of the Sports Authority of India and the Fit India Mission to organize the “Sundays on Cycle” campaign on 2nd November, 2025, in collaboration with Clean Air Warriors and the State Pollution Control Boards as special partners, all Regional Offices of the Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB) actively participated by organizing cycling and allied fitness activities across the state.

Promoting the campaign’s message — “Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” — the regional offices organized a range of vibrant activities including cycling rallies, yoga, zumba, and skipping sessions to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Regional Offices of Guwahati and Golaghat organized inspiring cycle rallies in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India.

The Regional Office of Tezpur conducted the event in partnership with the Sonitpur Cycle Association.

The Regional Office of Bongaigaon held its event in association with the Sports Authority of India, Kokrajhar.

The Regional Office (South Bank) hosted an energetic fitness campaign featuring zumba and yoga sessions conducted by the ABCD Dance Group, Chhaygaon, motivating participants to adopt a more active and healthier way of living.

Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB), in collaboration with Aaranyak, launched the “Pollution Abating Schools in Guwahati” initiative to promote sustainable practices among students. The inception workshop held on October 31 at APCB’s conference hall marked the beginning of this pilot project under the MoEFCC’s umbrella scheme.

Dr. G.K. Misra, Member Secretary, APCB, emphasized the importance of civic participation in environmental conservation and expressed hope to expand the initiative to more schools. Mr. Kanteshwar Kalita, Senior Planning & Research Officer, APCB, highlighted the role of schools in shaping environmentally responsible citizens and appreciated Aaranyak’s efforts in fostering behavioural change through experiential learning.

Officials from APCB, Aaranyak, Samagra Shiksha Assam, and representatives from participating schools attended the workshop — a collective step towards building a cleaner, greener Guwahati. 🌱

On 26-10-2025, Dr. Arup K Misra, Hon’ble Chairman, APCB visited Hindusthan Uniliver Industrial unit at Doomdooma, Tinsukia the afternoon hours after attending an interactive programme with the students of DHS Kanoi College.

Hon’ble Chairman sir along with officials of RO, Dibrugarh visited the TSDF site at Lekai Dibrugarh to asses the progress status of the facility being set up by MWML on 25/10/2025. The TSDF may be inaugurated tentatively in Decmber this year and shall be first such facility in Assam.

Further, also visited the a AAC blok manufacturing industrial unit in Dibrugarh.

Hon’ble Chairman Sir, Assam Pollution Control Board, addressed students at Dahudi on the occasion of Shyama Puja on 19th October 2025. Students and guardians attended the programme. In his inspiring speech, Hon’ble Chairman Sir highlighted how students from humble backgrounds can achieve great heights through dedication and perseverance, citing the examples of Shri Jitendra Gopal Borpujari and Shri Deepak Jain. He further emphasized that if young minds are nurtured and trained in the values of environmental sustainability, they can play a transformative role in shaping a cleaner, greener, and more responsible society.
