Rejecting 'conspiracy theory' surrounding Khalistani terrorist Jaspal Atwal's presence at CanadianPrime Minister Justin Trudeau's Mumbai reception, India on Wednesday said that it had nothing to with the incident and "any suggestion to the contrary is baseless and unacceptable.”The rebuttal by India came as Trudeau on Tuesday supported a theory floated by a senior government official who suggested that Indian government factions set him up for embarrassment by allowing Jaspal Atwal into the country.

The sudden death of actress Sridevi has left the country shocked and grieving. Just 54, Sridevi died after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday in Dubai where she was attending the wedding of actor Mohit Marwah, a nephew of the Kapoor family. Sridevi, respected by her colleagues as a fine actor with a gift for comedy, is considered the first female superstar of Indian cinema and leaves behind her a rich legacy of films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. She starred opposite some of the biggest names from filmdom, many of whom have posted condolence messages on social media - among them Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Rishi Kapoor.

Sridevi was born in Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu on August 13, 1963. She began acting at the age of four in 1969 filmThunaivanPoompatta won her a Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist in 1971. She also co-starred with late actress-politician Jayalalithaa in three films, including Adi Parashakti. In 1975, a year before Sridevi made her debut as a leading lady, she appeared in her first Hindi film, Julie, playing the sister of the heroine.

1976's Moondru Mudichu, opposite Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, was Sridevi's first lead role. She would go on to co-star with the two actors in several films, both Tamil and Hindi. Her best-known Bollywood collaborations with them are Chaal Baaz with Rajinikanth and Sadma with Kamal Haasan.

Sridevi's extensive filmography contains as many outings in Bollywood as it does down South. Her breakout film was 1983'sHimmatwala, opposite Jeetendra, remembered for the song Nainon Mein Sapna.

WELCOME:अपनी पहली भारत यात्रा पर दिल्लीपहुंचे कनाडा के PM ट्रूडोCanada PM JustinTrudeauलाइव हिन्दुस्तान टीम, नई दिल्लीUpdated: Sat, 17 Feb 2018 11:39 PM ISTअ+अ-कनाडा के प्रधानमंत्री जस्टीन ट्रूडो अपने भारतीय समकक्ष नरेंद्र मोदी के निमंत्रण पर सात दिवसीय यात्रा पर शनिवार को यहां पहुंच गए। विदेश मंत्रालय केप्रवक्ता रवीश कुमार ने ट्वीट किया, 'लोकतंत्र और बहुलवाद के साझा मूल्यों के साथ रणनीतिक साझेदारी!कनाडा के प्रधानमंत्री जस्टिन ट्रूडो को नमसते। वह 17 फरवरी से 24 फरवरी, 2018 तक भारत दौरे पर हैं।' मंत्रालय के बयान के अनुसार, 'कनाडाके प्रधानमंत्री के दौरे का उद्देश्य दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार, निवेश, ऊर्जा,विज्ञान एवं नवाचार, ऊच्च शिक्षा, आधारभूत विकास, अंतरिक्ष समेत कई क्षेत्रों के साझा हितों को लेकर द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को मजबूत करना है।'बयान के अनुसार, 'इसके अलावा, इस दौरे के अंतर्गत दोनों देश आपसी हितों के वैश्विकऔर क्षेत्रीय मुद्दों पर अपने विचार साझा करेंगे और सुरक्षा व आतंकवाद के खिलाफ कार्रवाई के लिए सहयोगपर प्रतिबद्धता जताएंगे।' कनाडा में भारतीय मूल के 14 लाख लोग रहते हैं। मोदी 23फरवरी को ट्रूडो के साथ द्विपक्षीय वार्ता करेंगे और इस दौरान कई समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए जाएंगे। अपनी भारत यात्रा के दौरान ट्रूडो आगरा, मुंबई और अमृतसर भी जाएंगे। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने इससे पहले अप्रैल 2015 में कनाडा का दौरा किया था।
