Maruti Vihar Sarbojanin Durgotsav was formed in 1991 with a vision to celebrate Durga Puja and MVSD is the 3rd oldest Durga Puja in Gurgaon.

It's a 4 day event with an excellent cultural show. Started by early settlers in Gurgaon from West Bengal, when Maruti Udyog opened it's first passenger car factory here in 1984. MVSD was formed in 1991 by these residents of Maruti Vihar, Saraswati Vihar, Sushant Lok-I and Chandralok who missed the festivity and fervour of Durga Puja as celebrated in West Bengal.
