Mussoorie Excursion 2026 | Classes VII & VIII
Salwan Public School, Gurugram organised an adventurous and enriching Mussoorie Excursion for the students of Classes VII and VIII from 19th May to 23rd May 2026. The excursion provided students with an excellent opportunity to experience learning beyond the classroom through various outdoor and adventure-based activities amidst the scenic beauty of Mussoorie.
The students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of activities including River Trekking, Rappelling, Rock Climbing, Zipline, High Rope Course (HRC), Raft Building, Guerilla Warfare, Camp Games, and Journal Writing Sessions under expert supervision. These activities helped students develop confidence, teamwork, leadership skills, discipline, resilience, and environmental awareness.
The camp experience also included bonfire sessions, music and dance activities, team-building exercises, and reflective learning opportunities that encouraged bonding and collaboration among students and teachers. Throughout the excursion, proper safety measures and discipline protocols were maintained under the guidance of teachers and camp instructors.
The excursion proved to be a memorable and meaningful experience for all participants, enabling students to explore nature, build life skills, strengthen friendships, and create cherished memories that they will carry for years to come.

Kasauli Excursion Trip – Classes V & VI
Salwan Public School, Gurugram organised a three-day residential excursion trip to Kasauli for the students of Classes V and VI from 17 May 2026 to 19 May 2026 in collaboration with Rocksport. The excursion aimed at fostering friendship, teamwork, leadership qualities, resilience and experiential learning among students.
The journey commenced early in the morning with students reporting enthusiastically to the school campus before departing for Kasauli under the guidance of teachers and the Rocksport team. Upon arrival at the campsite, students were warmly welcomed and introduced to the camp rules, safety protocols and team activities.
Students were divided into groups such as Red Rangers and Black Commandos to encourage team spirit and collaboration.
Throughout the excursion, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of adventure and learning-based activities including Zip Lining, Orienteering Sessions, Nature Trekking, Guerrilla Warfare Activities, Camp Games, Bonfire Sessions, DJ Nights and Journal Writing exercises. The Orienteering and Trekking sessions enabled students to develop navigation skills using compasses and maps, while adventure activities promoted confidence, cooperation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
An enriching highlight of the excursion was the nature hiking session conducted on the final day, during which students learnt about environmental conservation, ecological balance, lichens as indicators of clean air and the importance of preserving forests. Students also engaged in reflective experiences that helped them develop a deeper connection with nature.
The excursion concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognising students for their enthusiasm, discipline, creativity and participation throughout the camp. The students returned safely to the school campus with cherished memories, strengthened friendships and valuable life experiences.

Session on HPV Vaccination
An orientation session on HPV Vaccination was conducted on 16 May 2026 at Salwan Public School, Gurugram by the School Doctor for the mothers of girl students of Grades IX and X in the age group of 14–15 years.
During the session, the School Doctor sensitised the parents about Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Cervical Cancer, the importance of HPV Vaccination, vaccination strategy and key messages for caregivers. The mothers were informed in detail about the benefits, effectiveness and safety of the HPV Vaccine and its role in preventing various types of cancers.
Parents were also informed that the HPV Vaccine is available free of cost at Government Hospitals, PHCs, UPHCs and CHCs after registration on the U-WIN Portal. All mothers were encouraged to ensure timely vaccination of their daughters as a preventive healthcare measure.
Officiating Principal Dr. Sunita Jakhar also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of spreading awareness regarding HPV Vaccination in the present scenario. She appreciated the mothers for their active participation and for prioritising the health and well-being of their daughters.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram organised the Class Assembly of Grades IX A & IX B on the theme “Nourish the Body, Nurture the Mind” on 11 May 2026 with great enthusiasm and confidence. The assembly beautifully highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being and balanced living.
The programme commenced with a Sanskrit Shloka, prayer and inspiring thoughts, setting a positive and reflective tone for the day. Students confidently presented news updates, a weather report, yoga demonstrations, band performance, skit, dance and an engaging interactive quiz, making the assembly informative as well as enjoyable.
A special highlight of the presentation was “SPS Dialogues”, where students, along with esteemed teachers Ms. Deepti Sharma and Ms. Jyoti Chaudhary, shared meaningful insights on healthy living, mindfulness and the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
The assembly left a lasting message on the significance of nurturing both the body and the mind for holistic growth and well-being.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram organised a thoughtful and inspiring special assembly titled ‘Roots of Self and Wings of Confidence’ presented by the students of Grade V B. The assembly aimed to promote self-awareness, confidence and the importance of recognising one’s strengths and identity to grow with purpose.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer, followed by the Thought of the Day, Word of the Day, Idiom of the Day and News Headlines, enhancing students’ awareness and communication skills. The inclusion of the Plant of the Day and Millet of the Month further encouraged environmental consciousness and healthy living habits among students.
A thoughtful book review encouraged reflective thinking and highlighted the importance of self-discovery and personal growth. The assembly also featured a powerful skit portraying relatable classroom situations through impactful dialogues and expressive performances, beautifully conveying the message that self-awareness forms the foundation of inner strength and meaningful direction in life.
An engaging highlight of the presentation was the Affirmation Tree activity, where parents actively participated by writing positive affirmations and encouraging messages for their children. This meaningful involvement created a nurturing and supportive environment, reinforcing the idea that confidence grows through both self-belief and encouragement from others.
The assembly concluded with words of appreciation from the HM Ma’am and parents, who applauded the students for their confidence, creativity and impactful presentation. The presentation left behind a powerful message — when children understand their roots, they develop the wings to grow with confidence and purpose.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram celebrated Family Day with great enthusiasm and warmth at the E-Block Foyer Area, reinforcing the values of unity, belongingness and togetherness among the entire school community.
The celebration commenced with a serene prayer followed by the chanting of Gita Shlokas by the students of Class IX, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Shilpi Waie, Coordinator – Junior Wing, highlighted that the true essence of family lies in a strong sense of belongingness.
The programme featured a melodious group song by students of Grades III to V and a heartfelt self-composed poem by Sumedha Saxena of Grade XII-A, beautifully reflecting the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family. Students of Grades VI to VIII further presented an engaging Nukkad Natak based on the new school logo and the guiding principles of “Education for All” and “Service Before Self.”
The event was enriched by inspiring addresses from the coordinators of various wings, who encouraged students to value relationships, unity, discipline, mutual respect and lifelong connections. A vibrant dance performance added colour and energy to the celebration.
A special appreciation was extended to the Road Safety Team under the guidance of Dr. Savita Upadhyay and Ms. Ruchi Puri for their dedicated efforts in ensuring smooth traffic management outside the school premises.
One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the symbolic Human Chain, where teachers, administrative staff, student council members and MTS staff formed a protective circle around the students during the school song, beautifully representing unity, care and collective strength.
The celebration concluded on a heartwarming note with ice cream distribution, leaving everyone with a deep sense of pride, love and togetherness as members of the Salwan family.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram celebrated *Family Day* for students of Montessori I to Grade II on Monday, 4 May 2026 with great enthusiasm and joy. The celebration aimed to help young learners understand the importance of family, love, care and togetherness.
The programme began with an interactive discussion where teachers explained the role of family members and the values that strengthen family bonds. Students enthusiastically shared their thoughts and experiences, making the session engaging and meaningful.
A special highlight of the celebration was the formation of a human chain by the students, symbolising unity, connection and the strength of family relationships. The event also encouraged students to respect and appreciate the school’s helpers and support staff for their valuable contributions.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram conducted a thoughtful soft skills presentation for Montessori students on the theme ‘Comfortable & Uncomfortable Touch’ on Friday, 24 April 2026. The session aimed to create early awareness about personal safety and body boundaries among young learners.
Through simple explanations, storytelling, colourful presentations and age-appropriate enactments, students were sensitised to the concepts of safe and unsafe touch in an engaging and child-friendly manner. Interactive activities and handouts further enhanced participation and understanding.
The session encouraged children to express themselves openly, recognise uncomfortable situations and confidently seek help from trusted adults when needed. Overall, the presentation was informative, meaningful and effective in nurturing awareness, confidence and emotional safety among students.
