A health camp was organized at the Gauhati University campus by the Workmen’s Union and the Employees’ Union of Gauhati University in collaboration with Swagat Super Speciality Hospital and Guwahati Eye Hospital. NSS volunteers of the Gauhati University Campus (GUC) NSS Unit actively participated in the camp and contributed towards its successful completion.
The camp aimed to provide accessible healthcare services, including general health check-ups and eye examinations, for the university community. The NSS Campus Unit of Gauhati University organized an awareness quiz session among the B.Tech students of Gauhati University as part of its ongoing awareness campaign on TB and HIV/AIDS. The programme aimed to spread awareness and enhance knowledge regarding prevention, symptoms, treatment, and social responsibility related to TB and HIV/AIDS among the students.
The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Programme Officer (PO) Dr. Rituparna Borah.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Gauhati University 🩸
The Gauhati University Campus NSS Unit, in collaboration with GUIST and Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), successfully organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the GUIST Building on 13th May 2026.
✨ More than 60 volunteers participated enthusiastically, and around 30 units of blood were donated for the benefit of cancer patients.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakoti, Programme Coordinator, GU NSS Cell & DSW, Gauhati University; Prof. Tulsi Bezbaruah, Director, GUIST; and Former-RD, NSS Guwahati, Mr. Janzilong, who encouraged the youth to actively participate in social service and voluntary blood donation activities.
Dr. Rituparna Borah, Programme Officer, GU Campus NSS Unit, welcomed the guests and appreciated the volunteers for their noble contribution.
Special thanks to the medical team from BBCI, including Dr. Ranjit Sharma and Dr. Karabi Koli, for conducting the camp smoothly.

World Health Day was observed at Gauhati University campus with a yoga session organized by the Department of Bioengineering and Technology and the GUC NSS Unit.
Prof. Subhas Medhi, Prof. Kandarpa Saikia, and Dr. Md. G. Idrish from the Department of Bioengineering and Technology were present on the occasion. Dr. Rituparna Borah, Programme Officer of the GUC NSS Unit, also attended and addressed the participants.
Pankaj Medhi, Cultural Secretary of PGSU, Gauhati University was present as the resource person for the yoga session.
