An Awareness Programme on Empowerment of Adolescent Girls was organized at the Assam Administrative Staff College on 26th February 2026 as part of “Sewa Sankalp Saptah”, commemorating the completion of three years of Governorship. The programme was hosted by Lok Bhawan in association with the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Assam and UNICEF.
An exhibition stall was also graciously inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam. The stall displayed informative IEC materials and beautiful handmade creations by children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs), showcasing their creativity, talent, and immense potential.

The Assam team has achieved remarkable success at the Special Olympic Championship Final 2026, securing a total of 17 medals — 7 Gold, 5 Silver, and 5 Bronze.
Special congratulations to:
Santanu Gogoi – Gold in Long Jump and secured 7th position in 200 meters
Puski Marang – Silver in 200 meters and Bronze in Shot Put.
Both the outstanding athletes are from Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre, Duliajan, bringing immense pride to Assam through their dedication and excellence.
