State Level Conference on Key Child Rights Issues was successfully organized by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with State Child Protection Society, Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Assam on 6th March 2026 at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.

An Awareness Programme on Empowerment of Adolescent Girls was organized at the Assam Administrative Staff College on 26th February 2026 as part of “Sewa Sankalp Saptah”, commemorating the completion of three years of Governorship. The programme was hosted by Lok Bhawan in association with the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Assam and UNICEF.

An exhibition stall was also graciously inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam. The stall displayed informative IEC materials and beautiful handmade creations by children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs), showcasing their creativity, talent, and immense potential.

Under the 90-Day Child Protection Campaign “সুৰক্ষিত শৈশৱ সোণালী অসম”, District Child Protection Units across Assam are reaching out to communities through awareness programmes, sensitization drives, and interactive outreach activities.

This campaign is a step towards creating a protective environment where every child can grow with dignity, safety, and happiness. By spreading awareness and strengthening community responsibility, we move closer to our shared vision of a truly child-friendly Assam.

The Assam team has achieved remarkable success at the Special Olympic Championship Final 2026, securing a total of 17 medals — 7 Gold, 5 Silver, and 5 Bronze.

Special congratulations to:
Santanu Gogoi – Gold in Long Jump and secured 7th position in 200 meters
Puski Marang – Silver in 200 meters and Bronze in Shot Put.
Both the outstanding athletes are from Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre, Duliajan, bringing immense pride to Assam through their dedication and excellence.

"সুৰক্ষিত শৈশৱ সোণালী অসম” – A 90-Day Campaign on Child Protection was successfully launched on 16th December 2025 at the Assam Water Centre, Basistha.The inaugural programme was graced by Shri Mukesh Ch. The World Children’s Day celebration was brightened by enthusiastic dance and song performances by children from various CCIs.
