On 23rd February 2026, Retired Professor Hari Pada Raychoudhury generously donated 15 books authored by him to our library.

We are truly grateful for his thoughtful contribution. Such meaningful gestures not only enrich our collection but also strengthen our commitment to building a knowledgeable and enlightened society.

We sincerely thank Professor Raychoudhury for his valuable support and dedication to the academic community.

Hem Barua Library, B. Borooah College (Autonomous), organised a Wall Magazine as part of the Internship Programme 2025 of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).

The magazine was inaugurated by the Head of the Department, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, DLIS, Gauhati University.

On the same occasion, a special lecture was delivered, enriching the interns with valuable academic insights and professional guidance.

We thanked the esteemed guest and all participants for their valuable presence.

The library is more than shelves and silence.

On the significant occasion of National Librarians' Day, Hem Barua Library honored Dr. S.R. Ranganathan with a special ceremony. The event began with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and learning. Following this, we hosted a special lecture titled "The Role of Libraries in Advancing Research and Education," delivered by Dr. Gouri Sankar Karmakar, Deputy Librarian of Gauhati University.

The event was graced by the presence of our respected Principal, Vice Principal, Faculty Members, Non-teaching Staff, and Students. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of this program.
