Drug Abuse Awareness Programme | Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
On 29th December 2025, a Drug Abuse Awareness Programme was successfully organized at Government Model College, Baghbar, Barpeta under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 143 students and stakeholders, focusing on awareness, prevention, and the importance of building a drug-free society.
Together, let us continue to spread awareness and empower our youth to make informed and healthy choices.

Honouring Excellence in Para Sports
At today’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebration, outstanding para athletes from Assam were felicitated for their remarkable performances at national and international levels. Their dedication, resilience, and achievements continue to inspire and uplift the sporting spirit of the state.
The honoured athletes included: Ababil Ali, Anishmita Konwar, Lal Ram Souk, Juri Deka, Debraj Das, Dhunu Taw, Yesmina Khatun, Surja Saikia, Debi Lal Mili, Shajida Begum, Gopesh Jhalani, and Bharat Chetry — each recognized for their exceptional accomplishments in para athletics, para swimming, para badminton, and para boccia. 
A special mention was given to Anishmita Konwar and Lalram Souk, who are set to represent India at the Youth Asian Para Games 2025 in Dubai, scheduled from 7th to 14th December. Their participation marks a proud moment for Assam and reflects the growing excellence of the state’s para sports community.
Today’s felicitation ceremony celebrated not only achievements but also the unwavering spirit that defines these athletes — proving that determination knows no barriers.
