๐ Silver Jubilee Celebration โ 25th Foundation Day ๐
The Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Guwahati celebrated its 25th Foundation Day on 19th March 2026 at GMCH Auditorium, Bhangagarh, Guwahati, under the leadership of Dr. Lanu Wanboy Aimol.
The Silver Jubilee program marked 25 years of dedicated service towards empowering persons with disabilities through rehabilitation, education, and skill development.
The event began with a welcome dance by Ms. Chayanika Bezbaruah, followed by a welcome address by the Director. A tribute was paid to legendary singer Zubeen Garg, along with a solemn remembrance of former staff and students.
Five outstanding PwDs were felicitated for their achievements, and winners of sports and games events were also honored. A commemorative souvenir celebrating 25 years of service was officially released. A special performance by Ms. Jigyasa Kakoty added inspiration to the event.
The program was graced by distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Devajit Choudhury, Superintendent of GMCH, Smt. Suswapna Kakoty, Director of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Assam, and Smt. Sushama Hazarika, Commissioner for PwDs, Government of Assam.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Sunil Kr. Ram. Post-lunch, the CRC Guwahati Alumni Body was formed, followed by felicitation of alumni and staff members. The celebration ended with vibrant cultural performances by students, staff, and alumni.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from PwDs, parents, students, and staff, making it a grand success.

A two-day workshop titled โARTH โ An Aural Rehabilitation Workshopโ was successfully conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Cochlear Implant Group of India; The Assam Branch of Indian Speech and Hearing Association (AISHA); and Composite RegionalCentre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Guwahati on 4th and 5th April, 2026. The program was conducted at the Auditorium, CRCSRE, Guwahati under the able leadership and guidance of Director, CRCSRE, Guwahati. Dr. Aziza Karim, Clinical Assistant (Speech and Hearing) coordinated the programme on behalf of the Centre.
The objective of the workshop was to enhance knowledge, clinical skills, and awareness regarding aural rehabilitation among the professionals of Assam.
A total of 23 Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists and Special Educators in the field of Hearing Impairment attended the programme.
The Resource Persons of the 2 days programme were Dr. CHANDAN Saha, Director, Decibel Hearing Clinic, Kolkata ; Ms. Leena Vishwakarma, Director and CI Program Coordinator, Ahmedabad and Pragnya Bharadwaj, Pratidhwani, Guwahati.
The workshop focused on
the principles and practices of aural rehabilitation for individuals with hearing impairment and cochlear implant users.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by the Ms Manashi Sharma, Secretar, AISHA. It was followed by felicitation of dignitories and Lighting of Lamp to mark the inauguration of the programme.
During the two days the resource persons delivered lectures and conducted interactive sessions on various aspects of aural rehabilitation, including auditory training, speech perception, counselling strategies, and technological advancements in cochlear implants.
During the technical sessions, participants were exposed to both theoretical frameworks and practical approaches.
Case studies and hands-on demonstrations enabled attendees to gain deeper insights into assessment and intervention techniques. Special emphasis was laid on individualized rehabilitation plans and family-centered approaches.
Practical sessions and group activities further strengthened participantsโ understanding and application of learned concepts.
Overall, the two-day workshop proved to be highly informative and beneficial, contributing to the professional development of participants and promoting excellence in the field of aural rehabilitation.

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE) โ Guwahati, under the administrative control of SVNIRTAR, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, successfully organized a vibrant cultural programme to celebrate 150 years of the iconic song โVande Mataram.โ
The event began with a live telecast of our Honโble Prime Ministerโs address on this historic occasion, streamed in the OPD area and auditorium of CRC Guwahati.
This was followed by a cultural celebration featuring:

A highlight of the event was a speech by Dr. Mantu Paul, Lecturer (Physiotherapy), on the history, significance, and patriotic essence of โVande Mataramโ and its role during Indiaโs freedom struggle.
