| Today on 8th May, 2024, a “Book Display Programme” was organised by the Central Library, S. S. College, Hailakandi to celebrate the 163rd Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

| On 23rd April, 2024, a Book Exhibition was organised by the S. S. College Central Library to observe the World Book and Copyright Day

“Best Library User Award” for the session 2022-23 has been presented to Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Laskar, a student of TDC 6th Sem. Arts in recognition of being an active member of the library and effectively utilising the information resources and services.

On 22.02.2023 Honourable Superintendent of Police, Hailakandi, visited S. S. College Central Library and donated 25 nos. of Books on UPSC Civil Service Exam.
We are grateful to him for the generous donation of books which will be a great additions to our existing collections of competitive examinations books and also provide encouragement to the college students to prepare for Civil Services Exams (CSE) such as IAS, IPS, IFS etc.

The Library Cell, IQAC, S. S. College, Hailakandi has successfully organised a National level webinar on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Digital Environment: Issues and Concerns” on 26th April, 2022 on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day in collaboration with Assam College Librarians’ Association (ACLA), Barak Valley Zone. More than 100 library professionals, teachers, research scholars and students across the country participated in the webinar.
The eminent resource person of the webinar Dr. Kishor Chandra Satpathy, Chief Librarian, ISI, Kolkata delivered an invited talk in which he discussed in details about the various aspects of intellectual property and the associated rights. The Chief Guest of the webinar Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Head, DLISc & Dean, SVSLSc, Assam University in his inaugural speech highlighted the importance of World IP Day and gave emphasis to encourage the young minds for innovations and creativity for better future. The Principal of the college, Shri Amalendu Bhattacharjee in his presidential address mentioned the issue of intellectual property infringement and need for creating awareness among the people regarding IPR. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shibojit Choudhary, Librarian of the college with active support from Dr. Golab Chandra Nandi, Asstt. Prof., Dept. of Economics, S. S. College, Dr. Sonali Choudhaury, Librarian, Radhamadhab College and all the members of the Library Cell of S. S. college and the members of the Barak Valley Zone of ACLA.
