These past weeks, India witnessed some of the worst police atrocities against Indian citizens. Not just the police, but also the RSS goons who terrorize our streets as if the Government itself gave them power to do so, which they did. What else is to be expected from a Fascist-Authoritarian political regime who vows to leash Indians using Police and Rss goons. Questioning the ruling party is out of the question as you could either get beat up, end up in jail, get your house bulldozed or, secret ending, get killed. Bonus points if you belong to a Minority religion or caste. But you could easily avoid this, just shut-up and watch like a good little dog while they burn this country down.
Two journalists, Shaheen and Nafeesa, were beaten up by Delhi police for daring to ask questions at an event featuring Union Minister Amit Shah, who unironically had previously given orders to beat up students protesting against NEET paper leaks at Jantar Mantar back in July. These Women journalists weren't spared from police brutality as their Muslim names were revealed. The ruling government is soo fragile and scared that they cannot fathom a question against their regime from a Muslim no less. So they resort to beatings as a form of silencing. We should not forget that they were scared of a 6 year old, so he got detained. Even women and children are not spared in this country if they speak up.
A Muslim suspect was beaten up in the middle of the road by Police in Gujarat. Our law states that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. It is not the duty of the Police to give Judgements or Punishments to anyone when we have our own Judicial systems. The purpose of a police officer is to protect life and property and not threaten them. It is very concerning when the police do as they please. The misuse of police force by the BJP government is not news. BJP has a history of using police brutality to suppress protests against them and to support their violence against minorities including Muslims, Christians and Dalits. The question is, Is the government trying to control and silence the Indian population through force?
Swatantra Bhardwaj, a sanghi goon, came onto a podcast and openly admitted to brutally smashing a dalit man's head. Why are suspects who are muslims treated in the most inhumane way but when a criminal proudly confesses to his crimes, he is not even immediately arrested. One boasts about political protection while the other is treated less than a human. Why are the ones who ask critical questions called Dimagi Naxals and the one who brags assault is called goon 'activist'?
It is very hopeful and refreshing to see actual journalists rising up and asking questions unlike all the mainstream News channels also known as godi media. These channels got corrupted as they got owned by Adani and Ambani, the puppeteers of Modi. Not just the journalists, even 6 year olds are questioning the government. When the mainstream media who are supposed to represent us, fails us, we represent ourselves. We, Indian citizens have the right to do so. We have the right to freedom of expression. The government should start answering questions instead of trying to shut them down. Police raj should be stopped not the questioners.
