Hyderabadis do it again !!
An incredible group of citizens carried out an amazing cleanup of the legendary gateway to the Golconda Fort, the Fateh Darwaza.
From clearing out the massive garbage dump adjoining the gate to clearing heavy shrub growth to open up a lovely pathway along the wall top, to clearing the fenced yard completely and the garbage near the yard, man and machine delivered outstanding results.
Amazing people, working like clockwork to deliver incredible results.

A beautiful pathway all along the fort wall on top has been rendered inaccessible on account of heavy wild shrub growth. We propose to clear this path upto a southern bastion just south of Fateh Darwaza along the wall

Sadly the Fateh Darwaza has become a garbage dumping ground. On the 22nd September event we propose to clear the entire area in the vicinity of the legendary gateway of garbage. In phase two we'll clear the garbage littered on the northern side in the moat.

One of the greatest forts in India, Golconda was world famous as the primary supplier of the finest diamonds the world has ever seen and probably will ever see, and proved to be more than a match for the imperial army when Emperor Aurangazeb unsuccessfully laid seige for 8 months only to eventually bribe his way in through deceit of a commander.
The scene of the battle was at Fateh Darwaza named so by Aurangazeb as it marked his victory over the legendary fort.
Today this impressive gateway still stands tall with a million tales to tell.
Hyderabad Heritage Trust has undertaken the task of cleaning up the mighty Fateh Darwaza of litter and heavy growth vegetation with the objective of developing it as a tourist destination.
