𝐾ℎ𝑒𝑡 𝐵𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑜 𝐴𝑏ℎ𝑖𝑦𝑎𝑛 𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑛𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑡 𝐴𝑟𝑢𝑡𝑙𝑎 𝑉𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑔𝑒, 𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑎 𝑅𝑒𝑑𝑑𝑦 𝐷𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡 on 01 𝐽𝑢𝑛𝑒 2026
As part of the nationwide "Khet Bachao Abhiyan" (Save the Farm Campaign) under the Awareness Programme on Balanced Use of Fertilizers (BUF), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranga Reddy District, ICAR–CRIDA, Hyderabad, organized a farmer awareness programme on 01 June 2026 at Arutla Village, Ranga Reddy District.
The programme marked the launch of the nationwide campaign aimed at promoting balanced fertilizer use, improving soil health, enhancing nutrient-use efficiency and ensuring sustainable agricultural production.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Chandrakant M.H., Head, KVK Ranga Reddy, who emphasized the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), and eco-friendly farming practices for maintaining long-term soil fertility and enhancing crop productivity.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. G. Srikrishna, SMS (Horticulture) and Nodal Officer, Khet Bachao Abhiyan, who explained the objectives of the campaign and encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming practices in vegetable and horticultural crops for producing safe and quality food while improving soil health.
The following staff also from ICAR-CRIDA, KVK has attended the campaign:

ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad organised awareness campaign on soil health management and balanced use of fertilizer under the Save the Field Campaign 2026 , #खेत_बचाओ_अभियान Programme in Donur village ,Midgil mandal, 𝑀𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑏𝑛𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑟 𝐷𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡 of Telangana state on 1-6-2026
The following scientists from ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad has attended the campaign:

2. Dr.R.Rajani, Principal Scientist
They briefed about the key principles for soil health management such as balanced fertilization, integrated nutrient management (INM), soil test-based fertilizer application, organic amendment, bio-fertilizer application etc.
It was also suggested to adopt alternative agriculture practices such as organic farming, natural farming, precision agriculture and crop diversification for managing the soil health and environment. Use of eco-friendly fertilizers like organic manure, green manure, bio-fertilizers, vermicompost, compost, liquid fertilizers etc. were also emphasized
Total 20 farmers attended the programme including 2 women farmers

खेत बचाओ अभियान: स्वस्थ मिट्टी, समृद्ध खेती की ओर एक जनआंदोलन
उर्वरकों के संतुलित एवं वैज्ञानिक उपयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए चलाए जा रहे “खेत बचाओ अभियान” ने देशभर में किसानों तक व्यापक पहुंच बनाई है। 29 मई 2026 तक अभियान के तहत 8.26 लाख से अधिक किसानों को जागरूक किया गया है।
अभियान के अंतर्गत 15,289 जागरूकता शिविर एवं संगोष्ठियां, 3,435 प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम तथा 8,380 प्रदर्शन (डेमोंस्ट्रेशन) आयोजित किए गए, जिनमें हरी खाद, जैव उर्वरकों और अन्य जैविक संसाधनों के उपयोग पर व्यावहारिक जानकारी प्रदान की गई।
स्थानीय नेतृत्व को जोड़ने के लिए 5,074 पंचायत एवं जनप्रतिनिधि सम्मेलन, 9,609 इनपुट डीलर इंटरफेस तथा FPOs, SHGs और FIGs से जुड़े 8,383 किसान-सदस्यों के साथ संवाद स्थापित किया गया। अभियान के संदेश को व्यापक बनाने हेतु 57,074 स्थानों पर बैनर, पोस्टर एवं होर्डिंग्स लगाए गए।
रेडियो, टीवी और डिजिटल माध्यमों के जरिए भी अभियान को गति मिली। 1001 रेडियो कार्यक्रम, 223 टीवी/डिजिटल कार्यक्रम तथा सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से 3.092 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों तक इसका संदेश पहुंचा।
मिट्टी की सेहत, संतुलित पोषण प्रबंधन और टिकाऊ कृषि पद्धतियों को अपनाने की दिशा में यह अभियान किसानों को सशक्त बनाते हुए आत्मनिर्भर और समृद्ध कृषि व्यवस्था की ओर अग्रसर कर रहा है।

ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR-CRIDA) organized an awareness programme 𝑜𝑛 Rainwater harvesting and “soil health management and balanced fertilizer use” on 29.05.2026 in Chinna-Revally Village of Balanagar Mandal, Mahabubnagar District of Telangana state
The programme was organized under MISSION LIFE in alignment of World Environment Day-2026
