The development at DMRL has led to creation of new technology and production centres in the country. They are – Mishra Dhatu Nigam (Midhani), Non-Ferrous Technology Development Centre (NFTDC) and International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, all at Hyderabad and Heavy Alloy Penetrator Plant (HAPP), an Ordnance Factory, at Tiruchirapally.

Test of "Abhyas" which is a High Speed Aerial Target (HEAT) is successfully conducted in Chandipur Odisha yesterday.
It is equipped with indigenously built electro-mechanical system for navigation and guidance and is designed on an in-line small gas turbine engine.
It is designed for autonomous flying with the autopilot.
A Luneburg lens is used in the nose cone which improves the radar cross-section of the target for weapons practice. It has also Acoustic missed distance indicator (AMDI) to indicate the missed distance.
Defence Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bangalore, a premier Institute under the aegis of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is in process of engagement of Graduate Apprentices for one-year training. According to the spokesperson of DRDO, this organisation is going to spend 25% of the budget on R&D. The percentage of what goes into basic, upgraded and translation research has to be seen.
As much as 20% of the resources of each Laboratory should spend on research content of futuristic technologies.
DRDO has developed many technologies and is doing well. But there is a lack in the field of devices and senses and need to taken care of.
According to the chairman India is doing " extremely well in the Artificial Intelligence(AI)" area and and hoped in the next one-two years the country would do wonders.
