The National Urban Digital Mission- NUDM explores innovative Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) Strategies implemented by the state of Odisha from 27 February to 01 March, 2024.

Highlights:

1. Immersive engagement with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) Jatni and Khordha FSTP which provided valuable insights into Odisha's innovative approaches to FSSM.

2. Visit to the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Centre and Micro Composting Centre (MCC) in Sisupalgarh offered firsthand observations of the Solid waste.

3. Discussions centred on policy frameworks, technology adoption, and community engagement underscored the holistic approach to sanitation management.

4. Witnessing operational aspects of faecal sludge treatment plants, septage management systems and sanitation infrastructure in both urban and rural areas highlighted the importance of tailored solutions.

Moving forward, we are committed to leveraging these learnings to enhance our own FSSM initiatives and share best practices with stakeholders nationwide, fostering efforts for sustainable sanitation solutions.
