Wife: Don’t put so many clothes for wash today.

Husband: Why ?

She said : Maid has said she won’t come for two days.

Husband :Why ?

Wife : She said she is going to meet her grand daughter during Ganpati festival.

Husband : OK, Will not put too many clothes.

Wife: And, Shall I give her Rs. 500 for Ganpati? Festival bonus?

Husband: Why? Diwali is approaching, we will give her at that time.

Wife: Oh no dear. She is poor. Going to meet her daughter and grand daughter, so she will also feel nice. Moreover, everything has become so expensive these days. How will she able to celebrate festival?

Husband : You ! I don’t know why you become emotional so easily.

Wife : Oh dear, don’t worry. I am going to cancel today’s program of ordering Pizza. Why unnecessarily blow away Rs. 500 on eight pieces of stale bread.

Husband : Wow. Great. Snatching Pizza from us and giving to the maid !

Maid returned after three days and got busy in mopping and dusting.

Husband asked her.. So, how was the vacation ?
Maid : Very nice sahib.. Didi had given Rs. 500 .. festival bonus.

Husband : So you went and met your daughter ? and also met your grand daughter ?

Maid: yes sahib. Enjoyed a lot and spent Rs 500 in two days time.

Husband : Really ? Ok so what did you do with Rs. 500?

Maid : Rs. 150 for dress for grand daughter, Rs 40 for a doll, bought sweets worth Rs 50 for daughter, Rs 50 as offering to Deity in temple, Rs 60 towards bus fare, Rs 25 for bangles for daughter, bought a nice belt worth Rs 50 for son-in-law, balance Rs 75 gave to daughter to buy copy and pencil for grand daughter. Maid gave a full account of the expenses incurred.

Husband : So much in Rs 500?

With surprise, he started thinking. The eight pieces of Pizza appeared in front of his eyes and each one of them acted as a hammer started pricking his consciousness. For the price of one Pizza, he started comparing the expenses his maid had incurred during her visit to her daughter.

The eight pieces of Pizza floated in front of his eyes.

First piece ... dress for the child
Second piece … towards sweets..
Third piece … towards offering to the deity in the temple.
Fourth piece ... towards bus fare.
Fifth piece ... towards doll.
Sixth piece ... towards bangles,
Seventh piece... towards belt for the son-in-law.
Eighth piece... towards copy and pencil.

So far he had observed pizza only from one angle. He turned it upside down and observe how it looks like from the other side but today his maid showed him the other side of the pizza. The eight pieces of pizza showed him the real meaning of life and the meaning of “Spending for life” or “Life for spending”.

Think about it.

is "Spreading Happiness"

We all are humans and we all live in a society. Society implies to all humans under one umbrella. The problem is, instead of coming under one umbrella, we have created our own umbrellas and as the consequence of it, many are suffering the rain of problems and sadness. Is this the way to live in the society? We can't leave them suffering, leave them crying. At least we can give them a small reason to smile. And this was the driving force behind the establishment of ESPERANZA.

Moving on the path of spreading happiness, Esperanza turns a year old. The esteemed members of the group are solid proof that it's not the level that matters, but the thought and will to implement it. Bringing a small curve of happiness on one's face is simplest yet noblest work one can do. And with this confidence, we are constantly becoming big in number. Our efforts are high and yes, we will fly one day. Moving on our way,

Baba and Dadi are the real treasure of our society. They, who abandoned them for no reason, are the biggest fools. They failed to identify their real value.
Baba and Dadi never asked for anything above your care and some moments from your so called busy life. They have always given you the best possible. Few moments with them were the best of our lives. Talking with them, singing with them, spending time with them. They are full of life.Even the shortest story they narrate to us has the deepest meaning of living life with ethics and pride.
To all those who have abandoned there parents...we just have to say...
What you do today reflects your destiny!
And above all we esperenzites are standing before them like warriors.
Esperanza feels proud to be associated with Oldage Home, Guna as there is nothing above happiness that we get by making our REAL TREASURES smile...

Once a group of 500 people were attending a seminar. Suddenly the speaker stopped and decided to do a group activity. He started giving each person a balloon. Each person was then asked to write their name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

The people were then let into that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written on it within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.
Then, the speaker asked each person to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker then began, "This is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.

Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness; you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life...the pursuit of happiness."

A SHORT STORY will explain what Esperanza reflect with HELPING HANDS

Pencil: I'm sorry.

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry, you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself and get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true, but I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this, I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong, even though one day I know I'll be gone. I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying I hate seeing you sad.

"Our Parents are like the eraser, whereas we children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes.

Sometimes along the way they get hurt and become smaller (older and eventually pass on)

Take care of your Parents, treat them with kindness and most especially love them."
