Today, we wrapped up an exciting Wildlife Week celebration with a heartwarming closing ceremony! In the presence of our distinguished guests, we honored the incredible talents who participated in the On-the-Spot Painting Competition and On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition. 🎨✍️

On the occasion of Wildlife Week Celebration - 2024. Tata Zoo is organizing various activities. Day 1st, on 2nd October, 2024, we organized "On-the-Spot Painting Competition" for Middle and Senior Category.

The first round of judgement was done and following are the finalists selected, from which winner will be announced on 6th October, 2024, Closing Ceremony:

Today, on the 3rd day of Wildlife Week Celebrations 2024 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, an On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition in Hindi and English Category for school students from Std. IX to XII was organized.

The topics for the Essay Competition were related to this year’s theme: “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation: Our Land, Our Future” & “Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence”.

For English: Explain the mutual benefits of coexistence for people and animals

For Hindi: लोगों और जानवरों के लिए सह-अस्तित्व के पारस्परिक लाभों की व्याख्या करें।

89 students participated from 9 different schools. The essays will be evaluated by juries and result of the winners will be announced on 5th October, 2024.

Tomorrow, Fancy dress parade is scheduled for tender group of Nursery to Std. I. from 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM.

Wildlife Week Celebrations 2024 commenced today at the Tata Steel Zoological Park on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti with a formal inauguration by the Chief Guest Sri Saba Alam Ansari, I.F.S, Divisional Forest Officer, Jamshedpur. The Wildlife Week Celebrations 2024 will be celebrated from 2nd October to 6th October, 2024 by organizing several events for schools and college students.

Dr. Manik Palit, Dy. Director cm Officer Incharge, Tata Steel Zoological Park, delivered a welcome speech talking about the importance of Wildlife Conservation. Dr. Seema Rani, Biologist cm Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park and Program Coordinator of the Wildlife Week Celebrations – 2024, took us through the events scheduled in this weeklong celebration in here speech. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato, Curator, Tata Steel Zoological Park, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards everyone who have in any capacity helped and will be helping in making this weeklong celebration a success.

After the conclusion of the formal inaugural function, On-the-Spot Painting Competition was organized for the Middle Category (Std. VI – Std. VIII) and Senior Category (Std. IX – Std. X) on the topic – “Wildlife Conservation” and “Coexistence with Wildlife” respectively. A total of 116 participants from 15 schools participated in the event. The award for the winners will be given on 06th October, 2024 during the closing ceremony of the weeklong program.

During the program saw the presence of Dr. Naim Akhtar, Dy. Director, Tata Zoo, Teachers from city schools, Zoo staffs, volunteers from TSF, Mr. Sayok Sarkar, Zoo Intern-cum-Volunteers and Press and media persons.

This year “Wildlife Week Celebrations (WLW)-2024” will be conducted on the “Theme: Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation: Our Land, Our Future”, from 2nd - 6th October, 2024 in order to spread the awareness among the general public towards the conservation of wildlife and nature, and to comply with the targets of the LiFE initiative by the GOI.

The activities enlisted to celebrate the week are –
1. On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition (Hindi and English) - 20th September
2. On-the-Spot painting competition - 2nd & 6th October
3. Debate (English and Hindi) - 3rd October
4. Fancy Dress Parade - 5th October.

Winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates of award. All participants will get a certificate of participation from the Tata Steel Zoological Park.
