Directorate of Extension Education, AAU is going to organize an Online Interface Programme on Agripreneurship Development on 27th August 2025. Eminent experts for the programme includes Dr. P. Nath, Chief Scientist, AAU-ARRI, Titabar, Dr. M Borah, SS, AICRP on WIA, AAU & Mr. B. B. Rajkhonwar, COO, AAU NEATEHUB & Scientists of DoEE. In the programme to be hosted on Google meet platform, entrepreneurs from across the state will share their experiences and interact with our experts. It is expected that the programme will open new roads in the field of agripreneurship in coming days!!!

First Ever Online Interaction Programme covering farmers of all districts of Assam held.
An online interaction programme on “Scientific Management of Rice” was organized by Directorate of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat on 21.08.2024 at 11.00 a.m., wherein more than 100 farmers from 23 districts of Assam participated. The programme, was inaugurated by Dr. Manoranjan Neog, Director of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat and moderated by Dr. Rupjyoti Borah, SES, DoEE, AAU. In his inaugural address, he expressed hope that the initiative has been taken for the first time through our Directorate and will be held every month. He expected that farmers will be benefitted in a great way through programmes like this. Dr. Chinmoy Sarma, Chief Scientist, AICRP on Irrigation Water Management, AAU, Dr. Daisy Senapoty, Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, AAU, Jorhat and Dr. Mousumi Phukan, Asstt. Professor, Department of Entomology acted as experts from AAU in the programme. Dr. Arifa M. Begum and Dr. Bhrigu Kr. Neog, SES, DoEE, AAU were the other scientists participated in the 2 hour long interaction programme.

--- অসম কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, যোৰহাটৰ অভিলাষী প্ৰকল্প " দ্বি - শস্যক্ৰমৰ জনপ্ৰিয়কৰণ," সমগ্ৰ অসমজুৰি ১০০০ হেক্টৰ মাটিত কৃষি বিজ্ঞান কেন্দ্ৰ আৰু কৃষি গৱেষণা কেন্দ্ৰসমূহৰ জৰিয়তে কাৰ্যকৰী হৈ আছে। এই আচঁনিৰ অধীনত যোৰহাট আৰু মাজুলী জিলা সামৰি ৪০ হেক্টৰ মাটিত শালিধান (জাত - নুমলী/ শ্ৰাৱণী) - সৰিয়হ(টি.এছ. -৩৮) ৰ দ্বি - শস্যক্ৰমৰ প্ৰদৰ্শনীমূলক কৃষি কৰা হৈছে। আজি ১৬.০৭.২৪ তাৰিখে কৃষি বিজ্ঞান কেন্দ্ৰ, যোৰহাটৰ দ্বাৰা আমতল, বনাইত ৪০ বিঘা নিৰ্বাচিত মাটিত "ন - ভুঁই ৰোৱা অনুষ্ঠান" সম্পন্ন হয়। এই উপলক্ষ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত সভাত উপস্থিত থাকি অসম কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ সম্প্ৰসাৰণ শিক্ষা সঞ্চালক ডঃ মনোৰঞ্জন নেওঁগ দেৱে কৃষকসকলক শালিধান খেতি কৰি মাটিখিনি পেলাই নথৈ বছৰত দুটা বা তিনিটা খেতি কৰি অসমৰ কৃষি অৰ্থনীতি টনকিয়াল কৰিবলৈ আহ্বান জনায়। কৃষি বিজ্ঞান কেন্দ্ৰৰ পশুপালন বিশেষজ্ঞ ডঃ প্ৰভাত বৰুৱাই আঁত ধৰা অনুষ্ঠানটিত আদৰণি ভাষণ ও আঁচনিখনৰ সংক্ষিপ্ত বিৱৰণ আগবঢ়াই কেন্দ্ৰটোৰ জ্যেষ্ঠ বিজ্ঞানী ও মুৰব্বী ডঃ সঞ্জয় বৰঠাকুৰে। কেন্দ্ৰটোৰ শস্য বিজ্ঞান বিভাগৰ বিশেষজ্ঞ ডঃ সমীৰণ ভট্টাচাৰ্য্যই আঁচনি খনত প্ৰদৰ্শিত দ্বৈত শস্যক্ৰম, কৃষিত যন্ত্ৰপাতিৰ ব্যৱহাৰ, ৰোৱনী-তোলনীবিহীন ধানখেতি আদি বিষয়ত আলোকপাত কৰে। ইয়াৰ পিছতে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাৱে "ন-ভূঁই ৰোৱা" কাৰ্য্যসূচীৰ শুভাৰম্ভণি কৰা হয়। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানত মৰিয়নী সমষ্টিৰ বিধায়ক ৰুপজ্যোতি কুৰ্মীও উপস্হিত থাকি কৃষক ৰইজক উৎসাহিত কৰাৰ লগতে আধুনিক কৃষি প্ৰযুক্তি আৰু কৃষি বিজ্ঞান কেন্দ্ৰ , যোৰহাটৰ সুপৰামৰ্শৰ জৰিয়তে কৃষি ক্ষেত্ৰত আগুৱাই যাবলৈ আহ্বান জনায়। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানত শাৰী পাতি ৰোৱা, সুষম সাৰ প্ৰয়োগ, তথা ড্ৰাম ছিদাৰৰ সহায়ত সিঁচি কৰা ধানখেতিৰ পদ্ধতি প্ৰদৰ্শন কৰা হয়। প্ৰায় অৰ্ধ শতাধিক কৃষক উপস্থিত থকা অনুষ্ঠানত কেন্দ্ৰটোৰ উদ্যান শস্য বিভাগৰ বিশেষজ্ঞ ড. ভৈৰৱ গগৈ, পাম পৰিচালক সুবীৰ কুমাৰ বৰাও উপস্থিত থাকে। অনাগত দিনত বহল পৰিসৰত এটা দ্বি- শস্যক্ৰম পদ্ধতি কৃষক ৰাইজে আদৰি ললে অসম তথা দেশৰ অৰ্থনৈতিক পৰিকাঠামো শক্তিশালী হ'ব বুলি উপস্থিত ৰাইজে মত পোষণ কৰে।

2 day Training on Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables started at the DoEE, AAU on 04.07.24
A 2 day training on Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables started in the morning of 04.07.2024. The training is being funded by Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council and jointly organized by BKWAC and DoEE, AAU. The inaugural session was attended by Dr. M. Saikia, ADR (Agri) as Chief Guest, Dr. Ananta Saikia, Professor and Head, Deptt of FST, Dr. Phuleswar Nath, SES, DoEE, AAU, Jorhat Mr. Romeo Narzary, Deputy CEM and Mr Pradip Swargiary, EM, BKWAC. In the inaugural address, the guests emphasized the importance of Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables and how this can be a profitable venture for the Bodo Kachari rural youths. Emphasizing the genesis of this initiative and citing the MoU signing of BKWAC and AAU on 25.01.2024, Mr. Pradip Swargiary informed the house that this is just a beginning and more such trainings covering more participants will be organized in the coming days. The training is being attended by 20 participants of BKWAC region across Assam. The scientists of DoEE Dr. Arifa Momtaz Begum acted as Course Director of the programme while Dr. Soumitra Goswami, Asstt. Professor, Deptt. of FST acted as the Course Coordinator. The programme was also attended by other scientists Dr. Rupjyoti Borah an Dr. B.K. Neog of the Directorate. A training manual on the course edited by the scientists of the directorate will also be provided to the participants during the training programme, which will also include a couple of hand-on sessions.

Workshop on Vermicomposting at Borholla College
Dr. Rupjyoti Borah, Assoc. Prof., Directorate of Extension Education attended a day long workshop on
Vermicomposting organized by ASTEC in collaboration with Eco-Club, Borholla College at Borholla
College on 14.06.2024. The day-long programme was attended by 150 students from nine High and
Higher Secondary schools of Borholla and nearby areas. During the programme, Dr. Borah emphasized
the importance of Mission Life and how we can integrate ourselves to be a part of it. He elaborately
discussed about ways of efficient recycling of agricultural wastes and converting it to vermicompost. The
students actively participated in the demonstration programme that followed.

Plantation Drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024.
A massive plantation drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024 was organized in the DoEE Hostel Campus at 10.00 a.m. on 05.06.2024. All the scientists and employees participated in the programme and planted beneficial trees in the campus. In addition, all the employees planted at least two plants of fruits/forest species in their residential campus or office campus with a vow to Protect the Next Generation, thus making the programme a grand success

IQAC, DoEE organizes Popular Talk on “World Environment Day 2024 theme for the employees of DoEE, AAU
The DoEE unit of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, AAU organized a Popular talk for the scientists and employees of the Directorate of Extension Education, AAU in the online format at 3.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. The talk on the theme “Our Land. Our Future. We are Restoration” was delivered by Dr. Rupjyoti Borah, Associate Professor (Soil Science), DoEE, AAU, Jorhat. The talk was participated by 55 number of participants of the Directorate.

Workshop on “Setting up of the agri entrepreneurship facilitation centre for KVK's held
A day long workshop on Setting up of Agri-Entrepreneurship Facilitation centre for KVKs was held on 03.06.2024, wherein nine Subject Matter Specialists from KVK in the disciplines of Horticulture, Plant Protection, Community Science and Animal Science participated. Dr. K. Karthikeyen, CEO, and Dr. Danish Tamuly were the resource persons. Very soon, agri-entrepreneurship facilitation centres will be opened in nine KVKs in Assam.
