One of the major impacts of the ongoing pandemic on the educational sector was the cancellation of Board Exams across the country. Just like all other state boards and their central counterpart 'CBSE', the Government of Assam too had to cancel the respective state board examinations.

While other states had various existing methods of internal evaluation, the unavailability of something similar was a major drawback in case of the state of Assam. To ensure a smooth and justified evaluation process, hence, among many educational organizations, Project Saathi also sent its reccomedation to the Chairman, State Board Committee on Class 10 examinations.

On 1st July, 2021, the board has released its final method of evaluation, and we feel elated to see our key recommendations getting implemented. The Chairman has conveyed his wishes to the team, as he would expect us to keep working in the field of education.

Among the key recommendations that Project Saathi had sent, 'the basis for distribution of Marks', 'provision of a reference year', 'focus on class 9 results' etc. found its place in the final document.

In February this year, Project Saathi as a part of its suggestions on implementing NEP in the Northeast India, had suggested the reconstitution of Anganwadis. It has been acknowledged by the NEP committee under Union Education Ministry which was focusing on implementation of NEP 2020 in Northeast India.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has instructed the Social Welfare Department to rebuild all Anganwadi centres today, which is very much in the right direction in preparing the state for the implementation of NEP 2020 in the near future.

The New Education Policy places utmost focus and attention on delivering quality education at the early stages and proper facilitation and accessibility to Anganwadi centres for children will work as a catalyst in achieving the larger objectives set under the policy.

Most children who contact COVID-19 seem to endure mild or no symptoms, children who spend large parts of their lives on the streets may be more at risk than most. Existing health inequalities contribute to both the risk of exposure, as well as the susceptibility to disease during this pandemic. The living conditions of street-connected children often do not allow physical distancing or self-isolation.

Mission Raksha aims to achieve the goal of mask distribution among these children on the streets.

Join hands with us to make a difference in the lives of these children.
