MOTIVATIONAL VISIT OF NCC CADETS TO ARMOURED REGIMENT

The visit was organised under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Jalandhar with an aim to provide first-hand exposure to Army life and functioning of the Armoured Corps.

During the visit, cadets were briefed on the role of Armoured Corps, characteristics of Main Battle Tanks, life in the Army and entry opportunities to join Armed Forces as Officers. Cadets witnessed battle tanks from close quarters and interacted with troops. The interaction was highly motivating and instilled a sense of pride, discipline and patriotism amongst cadets.

21 Punjab Battalion NCC, Kapurthala expressed gratitude to the Army authorities for their support and for inspiring cadets to choose Armed Forces as a career.

To commemorate National Sports Day 2026, 21 Punjab Battalion NCC, Kapurthala under Jalandhar Group organised a Run for Fun event with the inspiring theme Fit India – Healthy India. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, healthy living, sportsmanship and an active lifestyle among the youth.

Around 100 NCC cadets and ANOs/CTOs from different educational institutions of Kapurthala and PI staff from 21 PB BN NCC KAPURTHALA participated enthusiastically in the event. The participating institutions included School of Eminence Kapurthala, MGN Public School, Hindu Kanya College, NJSA Government College Kapurthala and Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala.

The NCC cadets participated with great enthusiasm and maintained discipline throughout the run. The event created a vibrant atmosphere in the city while spreading the message that regular physical activity and sports are essential for a healthy body, a positive mind and a productive life.

The initiative also provided an opportunity for cadets from different institutions to come together and demonstrate the core NCC values of discipline, unity, teamwork, leadership and dedication. The energetic participation of the cadets reflected their commitment towards fitness and their responsibility as ambassadors of a healthy and active India.

The event concluded at School of Eminence, Kapurthala, with the participants reaffirming their commitment to make fitness and sports an integral part of their daily lives.

Tribute to Kargil Martyrs

21 Punjab Battalion NCC Kapurthala Organized a Three-Day Programme to Commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas.

To pay tribute to the indomitable courage, bravery, and supreme sacrifice of the martyrs of the Kargil War, 21 Punjab Battalion NCC, Kapurthala, under the Jalandhar Group, organized a series of events from 22 July to 24 July 2026.

The campaign was led by Colonel R. K. Chauhan, Commanding Officer, 21 Punjab Battalion NCC.

Major Activities of the Programme:

1. Tree Plantation Drive – 24 July:
In collaboration with the Urban Estate Welfare Society, Kapurthala, a total of 450 saplings were planted at Urban Estate, Kapurthala. Around 450 NCC cadets enthusiastically and disciplinarily participated in the drive, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation.

2. Documentary Screening:
A documentary on the Kargil War was screened for the cadets to inspire them with the courage, patriotism, and sacrifices of the brave soldiers.

3. Poster-Making Competition:
A poster-making competition on the theme Patriotism was organized, where cadets creatively expressed their thoughts and love for the nation.

Cadets from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Government College, Hindu Kanya College, School of Eminence, MDS Senior Secondary School, MGN Public School, Cambridge International Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 & 2 RCF, Army Public School Beas, and Pathseeker School, Dera Beas participated in the programme.

Colonel Surinder Pal Singh, Administrative Officer, 21 Punjab Battalion NCC, said:

The supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers of Kargil will continue to inspire every citizen to uphold the values of patriotism, discipline, and dedication to duty. Every citizen must also play an active role in protecting the environment.

He also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kulwinder Singh Nagra, President, Urban Estate Welfare Society; Mr. Hemant Kumar Purani, General Secretary; Patron Advocate Mr. Anuj Anand; Mr. Lakhwinder Singh Mal; and Mr. Vikas Puri for their valuable support in making the campaign a success.

The programme concluded with the inspiring message:

भैरव बटालियन क्या है?
भारतीय सेना ने युद्ध के बदलते स्वरूप को देखते हुए एक नई बटालियन तैयार की है, जिसका नाम रखा है 'भैरव'। भैरव का मतलब होता है जिसको ना डर हो ना पश्चाताप हो।
250 सैनिकों की इस टुकड़ी में इंफेंट्री, आर्टिलरी, एयर डिफेंस, सिग्नल और अन्य सपोर्ट यूनिट्स के जवान शामिल हैं। यह बटालियन पाकिस्तान और चीन से लगी सीमाओं के साथ-साथ देश के भीतर किसी भी ऑपरेशन को अंजाम देने के लिए पूरी तरह सक्षम है।
क्यों हुआ भैरव बटालियन गठन?
ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद भारतीय सेना को एक ऐसी यूनिट की जरूरत महसूस हुई जो, दुश्मन की सीमा में गहराई तक घुसकर कार्रवाई कर सके। आतंकी लॉन्च पैड और फॉरवर्ड पोस्ट को नष्ट कर सके, इसी कारण ने भैरव बटालियन को जन्म दिया। हमें पता है कि स्पेशल फोर्सज स्ट्रैटेजिक ऑपरेशन के लिए होती है और घातक टुकड़ी टैक्टिकल ऑपरेशन में काम करती है। इन दोनों के बीच की खाई को भरने के लिए भैरव का गठन किया गया है।

यह यूनिट इन्फेंट्री बटालियन के घातक कमांडो और स्पेशल फोर्सेज (पैरा-SF) के बीच की रणनीतिक कड़ी के रूप में काम करेगी। इसका उद्देश्य आर्मी को और अधिक लीन, फुर्तीली और घातक बनाना है।
