DMMU-Sribhumi ASRLM

Member from Nupui SHG under Lowairpoa Block of Sribhumi District participated in Bhogali Mela, Kolkata organised at Assam Bhawan by Assamese Cultural Association, Kolkata from 9th to 11th of January, 2026. She represented the Halam Community of Sribhumi and exhibited for sale the Handloom, Jewellery and hand craft products made by her SHG. The SHG could sell all the products.

9th to 11th Jan, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Magh Bihu, the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), under the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of Assam, successfully organised the Asomi Bhogali Mela, 2026 at Karimganj College Field in Sribhumi District. The event celebrated rural entrepreneurship, Assam’s rich cultural heritage, and women-led economic empowerment, showcasing the strength and creativity of rural communities.
The event successfully fostered a vibrant festive ambience through a well-designed array of activities, including traditional sports competitions, indigenous cuisine contests, and engaging cultural performances. The cultural programmes comprising dance, drama, and musical presentations were thematically aligned with women empowerment, women safety, and social awareness. A specially curated fashion show showcased the traditional attire and cultural legacy of the diverse communities of Sribhumi District, while performances by local artists and children added further grace and vibrancy to the celebrations.

The three day Mela concluded with remarkable success, generating total sales of approximately ₹8 lakh, thereby making a direct and tangible contribution to income enhancement among rural households and reinforcing the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs across the district.

The District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), Sribhumi of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) is going to organize ASOMI BHOGALI MELA 2026 at Karimganj College Field from 09 January 2026 to 11 January 2026 on the auspicious occasion of ensuing Bhogali/Magh Bihu.
The objective of the mela is to showcase and sell products prepared by Self Help Groups (SHGs), thereby promoting rural entrepreneurship, traditional skills, and livelihood opportunities for women SHG members under ASRLM.

On 29-12-2025: DMMU Team visited RSETI Sribhumi to interact with SHG members undertaking training on Food Processing.

24-12-2025: DMMU Team visit at Trinayani CLF and Janakalyan CLF under Bhairavnagar Block, Sribhumi District where there was interaction with CLF office bearers, EC members and Community Cadres under the CLFs. There was discussion on activation of VO and CLF Sub Committees, Livelihoods, MMUA Utilisation.

23-12-2025: DMMU Team visit at Mahila Unayan CLF, Purabi CLF and Mahila Kalyan CLF under Patharkandi Block where interaction was with CLF office bearers and EC members. The meeting was carried out with discussion on-

1.FNHW activities at CLF
2.GPP formation, roles and responsibilites at CLF level.
3 CLF working guidelines.
4.Sub committees at CLF.
5.Checking of books of records
6.MMUA regarding.
7.All SHG and VOs audit by Community auditors.

23-12-2025: Block Level Rally on Gender Equality and Pledge taken by SHG members as part of National Campaign for Gender under Dullavcherra Block, Sribhumi District.

On 19-12-2025: DMMU Sribhumi Team Visit to Mahila Kalyan CLF where interaction was done with CLF EC members and Community Cadres under the CLF in presence of BMMU Officials. In this CLF there was discussion on the various activities to be undertaken under Livelihoods, FI, SISD. There was discussions on various strategies to be followed to strengthen the CBOs.

On 19-12-2025: DMMU Sribhumi Team's visit at Sangam CLF of Dullavcherra Block under Sribhumi District where there was interaction with CLF EC members and Community Cadres under the CLF. The Team discussed on ways to strengthen SHGs, VOs and the CLF. The utilization of MMUA amount received by the SHG members. The procedures to be followed under NRLM guidelines. The various activities to be undertaken to reach to a model level. Checking of books of records and highlighting the importance of proper maintenance of Books of records of SHGs, VOs and the CLF.
