Coir Board organized a two-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on “Export Management Skills for Coir Exporters” from 23rd to 24th September 2026 at Sakthi River Resort, Pollachi, with the objective of enhancing the export management capabilities of coir entrepreneurs and exporters in view of the evolving international market.
Dr. Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, Chairperson, Pollachi Municipality, inaugurated the programme and highlighted the importance of strengthening the knowledge and skills of coir exporters to effectively meet the emerging requirements of international markets. Shri K. V. Reji, Deputy Director (EM) and Shri Deepak Soman, Research Officer (Export Marketing) Coir Board, Kochi also addressed the gathering.
Technical sessions were conducted by experts from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Plant Quarantine Department, and DBGT. The sessions covered export procedures, regulatory requirements, documentation, and other important aspects of coir exports. The programme aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills for effective export management and to facilitate the exploration of emerging opportunities in international markets.
