🔐 Security Review at Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital

In the wake of a number of theft incidents reported from the doctors’ quarters and campus of Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital (KMCH), Kokrajhar, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, along with the SSP, Kokrajhar and Additional District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, visited the KMCH campus and conducted an inspection to assess the security vulnerabilities.

The DC and SSP held a detailed discussion with the Principal and senior officials of KMCH on the security concerns identified during the inspection. The discussion focused on preparing a comprehensive security plan and strengthening preventive measures to ensure the safety and security of the hospital premises, doctors’ quarters and other critical areas.

✈️ Partial Emergency Mock Drill & Table-Top Meeting at Rupshi Airport

A Partial Emergency Mock Drill was conducted today at Rupshi Airport by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Rupshi, in coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), Assam Police, and the Medical Officer, Gauripur Community Health Centre (CHC).

The exercise was conducted in the presence of the Field Officer, Bagribari Revenue Circle, DDMA Kokrajhar, OIC, Rupshi Airport, Air Traffic Control (ATC) personnel and other key stakeholders.

Following the mock drill, a briefing and table-top meeting were held to review the response mechanism and emphasise the importance of strengthening emergency preparedness, enhancing situational awareness, improving inter-agency coordination and conducting regular mock drills for an effective and timely response during emergencies.

The exercise highlighted the importance of coordinated action, preparedness and collective responsibility among all stakeholders in strengthening emergency response mechanisms and ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and the airport community.

📊 Review Meeting on Follow-up Activities after Loan Mela

District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, chaired a meeting with senior officers of the District Administration, LDM, DDM, NABARD, DPM, ASRLM, GM, DICC to review the follow-up activities and progress after the Loan Mela held on 5th October 2026 at Kokrajhar.

The meeting focused on ensuring timely follow-up with the beneficiaries, coordination among the concerned departments and financial institutions, and facilitating the necessary support for effective implementation of the various schemes and loan assistance discussed during the Loan Mela.

The DC emphasised close monitoring, inter-departmental coordination and timely resolution of issues so that the benefits of the Loan Mela reach the intended beneficiaries effectively.

💼 Exploring Financial Support Facilities for MSMEs & Entrepreneurs

District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, held a meeting with the AGM, SBI, Bongaigaon, Chief Manager, SBI, Kokrajhar, and other senior SBI officials, in the presence of the Additional District Commissioners, Kokrajhar, to explore viable avenues for providing financial support and further banking facilities to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs in the district.

The meeting also discussed the scope for strengthening financial inclusion of beneficiaries under CMAAA and effective utilisation of available funding under the cluster model, with a focus on facilitating access to appropriate financial services and institutional support.

The meeting highlighted the importance of banking support, institutional coordination and accessible financial facilities in promoting entrepreneurship, strengthening MSMEs and supporting sustainable economic activities in the district.

🌿 POSHAN Mela organised at Kokrajhar ICDS Project

A POSHAN Mela was organised by the Kokrajhar ICDS Project to promote awareness on nutrition, healthy dietary practices and the importance of locally available nutritious foods among the community. The Hon'ble MLA, Kokrajhar, Baukhungri, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, Secretary, WCD, BTC, officials and representatives from KVK, Health, BDO, CHO, ASRLM, DSWO, NLU, CDPOs, Supervisors, District and Block POSHAN Coordinators, and frontline workers including AWWs and AWHs participated in the event. Mothers’ groups, pregnant women, lactating mothers and pre-school children also actively participated in the programme.

The DC emphasised the significance of POSHAN Mela as a platform for community participation, inter-departmental convergence and awareness on essential nutrition practices, which can contribute meaningfully towards achieving the objectives of POSHAN Abhiyaan and improving the nutritional well-being of women and children.

The Mela featured a range of nutrition-focused activities, including:
🔹 Demonstration of locally available nutritious foods
🔹 Food Mela
🔹 HCM (Hot Cooked Meal)
🔹 Community-Based Events (CBE)
🔹 Demonstration of “MAA POSHAN THALI” for lactating mothers

The activities highlighted the importance of balanced diets, dietary diversity, locally available food resources and appropriate maternal and child nutrition practices.

🌿 Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 🌿

As part of the ongoing Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organised today at Kachugaon Model High School, Kachugaon, by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, in collaboration with the District Administration, Kokrajhar.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble MLA, Gossaigaon LAC, Shri Sabharam Basumatary, as the Chief Guest.

Shri Amit Singh, Commandant, 21 SSB, Gossaigaon; Lt. Colonel Amaj Hungyo, 135 ETF, Indian Army; Major Pratap Singh Rathod, Company Commander, 135 ETF, Indian Army; SDPO, Gossaigaon; Secretary, DLSA; DFO, Kachugaon; and Dr Wasim Akram Barik, Kokrajhar Cancer Hospital, attended the programme as guests and resource persons.

The speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and substance addiction, and urged the more than 300 students present to stay away from drugs and other intoxicating substances. They encouraged the students to focus on education, good health and positive choices to build successful lives and become responsible and dedicated citizens of society and the nation.

The programme served as an important platform to sensitise young minds and strengthen the collective resolve towards building a drug-free and healthier society.

As part of the ongoing Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, the District-Level Quiz, Speech & Art Competition was held today at Kokrajhar University, Kokrajhar, following the successful completion of the LAC-level competitions.

District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, attended the programme and interacted with the participating students. He encouraged the young participants and appreciated their enthusiasm, creativity and active participation in the competitions.

The interaction with the District Commissioner added to the enthusiasm of the students and encouraged them to continue nurturing their talents and confidence.

⚖️ Session on Magisterial Duties Held for Officers and ACS Officer Trainees ⚖️

The District Administration, Kokrajhar, in collaboration with the Bodoland Administrative Staff College (BASC), Kokrajhar, conducted a comprehensive session on Magisterial Duties today through hybrid mode.

The session was attended by officers of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sub-Divisional Officers and Circle Officers, along with 44 Officer Trainees of the ACS 2026 batch currently undergoing training at BASC, Kokrajhar.

Shri Atul Dutta Bhuyan, ACS (Retd.), was the key resource person for the session. He provided detailed insights into the legal frameworks, statutory powers and field responsibilities of an Executive Magistrate, with particular emphasis on their practical application in the field.

The interactive session covered important aspects of law and order management, administrative protocols and procedural requirements, providing the officers and Officer Trainees with practical knowledge essential for effectively discharging magisterial responsibilities.

The session was a valuable learning opportunity, particularly for the Officer Trainees, as they continue to develop the knowledge and skills required for their future roles in public administration.

🌟 MoA Signed for “Poshan Setu” Initiative🌟

The District Administration, Kokrajhar, and NTPC Bongaigaon today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) under the “Poshan Setu” initiative to provide nutritional support to TB patients in Kokrajhar district.

The MoA was signed in the presence of Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar; Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon; Shri A.K. Asthana, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, ADC, Kokrajhar and other senior officials from the District Administration and NTPC Bongaigaon.

As part of this CSR initiative of NTPC Bongaigaon, 200 TB patients in Kokrajhar district will receive nutritional food support for a period of six months under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA).

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of the District Administration and NTPC Bongaigaon towards supporting TB patients and contributing to the goal of a TB-free Kokrajhar and a healthier Assam.
