TILT IN BUILDING IN SOUTH KOLKATA NEAR EM BYPASS
Part 2
Tilt of building as admitted by builder and it's engineer team in Feb 2021- 6 to 7 inches due to differential settlement. It has tilted in one side . No steps taken for the same instead stated as safe for habitat. The damage is progressive. There is no monitoring for the same.
There are 2-3 building in Kolkata which are tilted and has not toppled for years.
Many has toppled also.

Today Jago India wants to share a real incident from life. A very recent incident.
It’s a prominent residential complex of Kolkata, near EM Bypass. There are many blocks in the complex. One block have a prominent tilt. The owners of those apartments realized the tilt just after 14 days of shifting in the new apartment. Year was last quarter 2018. The same was informed to the builder. The builder was unwilling to return money. Offered to replace but was unable to provide same configuration. In good cooperation the buyers opted to change. But unfortunately that block also after measuring came out not straight. The buyers refused to take the same. From 2018 end to 2022 first quarter the builder is not coming to any conclusion to refund money to buyers. Instead in 2021 the builder misbehaved a lot with buyers. The tilt is so much that it has effected –
Aesthetic: the appearance of the building is adversely affected.
Serviceability: some function of the building, or services is impaired.
So the stability can be questioned.
Major problems are-
a. INTERIOR CRACKING - There are semi-horizontal or 45-degree angle cracks. Cracks are typically seen at the corners of windows, internal walls, and major cracks are observed in internal walls joining with horizontal beams in outer periphery of the building.
b. SAGGING FLOORS, CRACKING OF TILES AND SCRAPE MARKS ON FLOORS - Service stability hampered – Change of floor level. The building has so much tilted that there is change in floor level. This gives continuous mental stress to the residents, insecurity in everyday life. Hampers normal life. It is difficult for people to stay in this state and lead a normal life. There are scrape marks on the floor. Tiles are cracking.
c. STICKING WINDOWS AND DOORS - Windows are hard to open and sticks due to tilt in the building. Frames distressed due to deformation. Doors have uneven gaps, some doors slides towards the tilt, and some doors are sticking. Door jamb, and misaligned doors and latches due to the tilt in the building are observed.
d. EXTERIOR CRACKING – There are cracks on exterior walls. Due to shift in the soil beneath the structure and stress that is transmitted from the foundation to the structure, creating shear cracks in the walls as mentioned in details above pose a threat to the stability of the building and threat to safe habitat of its residents.
e. WATER DRIPPING AND PITTING ON ROOF – The ceiling of 4th floor is totally damaged due to pitting.
f. SAGGING OF HORIZONTAL BEAMS – Sagging of horizontal beams are observed. Water drips from the cracks during heavy rain.
g. LEAKAGES IN PIPELINES – Internal leakage in toilet pipe lines observed due to stress in the building for the tilt and also for poor workmanship and poor material which leads to excessive damps in the wall. Owner of the mentioned flat had to repair the walls as it impossible to stay and lead a normal day to day life. Owner incurred lot of expenses for the repair but again the damps are showing up, peeling of paints and painting deformations are observed due to leakages and tilt and stress in the building.
h. LIFT – Proper and smooth service of lift is effected, due to the tilt. In future the lift may stop working. With senior citizens (septuagenarian 70+ age and octogenarian 80+ age) at home this is a nightmare we face everyday.
The builder and team still says it’s safe for habitat so they do not bother to reply any mail or letters.

It's time to boycott Ola , Uber in Kolkata i guess.
What is your opinion ?
They booking rates on the app does not mention it is non ac fare. But in Kolkata OLA and UBER runs in non ac mode. To run AC drivers charge around 50% extra of the fare as ac charge. In Kolkata the fare of OLA UBER is higher compared to other cities.
The app should mention it as fare with Air condition or fare without ac.

It's time for all of us to become a responsible audience first.
1. Think when you watch anything does it worth watch.
2. Is it adding any value to yourself or to the society at large.
3. Give potential to your like and follow button.
4. It will surely bring effect on the virtual backbone of our society (the movies, tv serials, etc) and thus the content can upgrade.
5. Follow good thoughts, valuable contents and become a soldier to change for better.

Marriage the word never comes alone, plenty words accompany it whenever uttered.
To a girl’s/bride’s parents word marriage comes with adjustment, compromise, understanding other’s more than self, happiness (keeping other’s happy at any cost than self). So these are the main thoughts they themselves possess and same the girl inherits from them even if she thinks different or feels different. This is what we see for ages and is nothing different in 2022.
To a boy’s/ groom’s parents word marriage comes with lot of expectations. And that is limitless – so difficult to define but few can be penned down – they expect the bride to be - unblemished beauty without brain, obedience, caring and compassionate, selfless, without ambition, others happiness to be the only passion of life. The same is inculcated in the groom’s thought.
And above things becomes the norms of the society.
We have crossed many bridges with age and time. From landline to mobile, bucket washing to washing machine, from chula to chimney, gas, induction, microwave etc, from filament bulb to led and many more. We have got accustomed to air conditioners, refrigerators etc for our comfort. But we till now not adopted the mechanism where we can tell our girls to be ambitious and choose career over marriage. We are yet to tell our girls marriage is an option not a compulsion.
Staying together does not only mean staying in the same house. Staying together means staying by each other’s side, maintaining a healthy relationship.
THE NEED OF THE DAY– LETTING THE BRIDE AND GROOM STAY ON THEIR OWN.
This will result is less divorces most importantly. This is a proved fact. Our society need to accept this and change. This will give a healthier society where every household with not face the world wars day and night. It will bring peace and love in relationship. If there is socio economic constraints then awareness of giving space to couples should be the program everywhere like our cultural programs.
The MIL (mother-in-law) – DIL (daughter-in-law) television soaps and movies should come to an end. Help from influencers of our society, judiciary and law are required to spread this awareness.
When a divorcee case goes to court there judges try to reconcile. In the reconciliation advising the couple to stay alone from the grooms parent, like the way a girl/ bride comes out of home to stay alone should be opted.
We follow the world for trends, why not upgrade our society with this trend of the world.
