"Young lady, came to me with severe pain, burning sensation all over body. Her skin is sloughing out from back, abdomen, private parts, inside mouth and also from parts of leg. Yellowish fluid coming out from all the areas. Share was bearing this for last 5days. Couldn’t eat food, talk, walk or sleep properly. She was only having some mumbling sound and tears to describe her condition.

I asked them to get admitted immediately but they told it’s not possible for them as it might be costly affair. Due to the current situation of mistrust among patients toward doctor I firmly told them I won’t be able to take the risk. But tears of all the family members and the patient defeated me and had to take the risk to treat her in outdoor basis. She was proved to have severe adverse drug reaction. She had some pills from medicine shop without any supervision and landed up to this situation. Self medication might be detrimental and may cause death! She had to have many blood tests, skin biopsy, X-ray, CTscan & few other tests for diagnosis and treatment. Ultimately with many medicines we saved her. Definitely she got a new life. In severe drug reaction many patients loose their life. It took 3 weeks to make her walk again. It feels immense happiness when she visited me with a smile.

এদের কাজের ধরনে নতুনত্ব বিশেষ নেই, তবে জনগণকে আরও একবার সাবধান করে দেওয়ার স্বার্থেই জানাই যে একবালপুর থানা এবং পোর্ট ডিভিশনের সাইবার বিভাগে জমা পড়া একাধিক অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে ঘটনার তদন্তে নেমে জানতে পারে , মূলত বাড়িতে মোবাইল টাওয়ার বসানো, সহজে লোন পাইয়ে দেওয়া, এবং বীমা সংক্রান্ত সমস্যা মেটানোর প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে প্যান কার্ডের তথ্য এবং টাকা হাতিয়ে নিত এই জালিয়াতের দল। যার ফলে অনেকেই খুইয়েছেন অনেক টাকা, তৈরি হয়েছে অজস্র ভুয়ো প্যান কার্ড।

সুতরাং আবারও অনুরোধ, অর্থকরী কোনোরকম তথ্য সহজে কারোর সঙ্গে শেয়ার করবেন না। শুধুমাত্র ফোনে কথাবার্তার ভিত্তিতে কাউকে বিশ্বাস করবেন না। কেউ অকল্পনীয় রকমের ভালো সুযোগের লোভ দেখালে ধরেই নিন, তা শুধু অকল্পনীয় নয়, অবাস্তবও।

This was the line being fed to a lot of gullible people by a group of fraudsters, led by one Prabhat Bhardwaj who, along with three others, was arrested on Saturday during a raid conducted jointly by Cyber Cell, Port Division & Ekbalpore PS, from the Nagerbazar area. A amount of cash, mobile phones, SIM cards, and laptops were seized from them. Two other members of the racket had been arrested earlier.

The group’s modus operandi isn’t new, but the brief facts ought to be stated in public interest. Department undertook this investigation on the basis of multiple complaints filed with Ekbalpore Police Station and Cyber Cell, Port Division, and learned that the fraudsters would primarily entice victims with promises to get a mobile tower installed in their homes, or secure easy loans for them, or solve all their insurance problems, in return for a fee. In some cases, they would also ask for PAN card details. As a result, several people were cheated of their money, and numerous fake PAN cards created.
