The *Department of Basic Science & Humanities* in collaboration with *IIC* and *IEDC (BSH, EE, ME)* has celebrated the *National Start Up Day* by organising a *Workshop and Competition on Innovative Entrepreneural Idea*. A total of 14 teams from *B.Tech 1st year* have participated with their business idea and prototypes. The event was judged by
*Prashant Pachisia, (Director, 2Coms Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.), Krishan Mohta, (Director, Learning Spiral Pvt Ltd), Rajesh Goyal, (MD, iGarageVenture & GFS Group) and Tameka Dhar, (Executive Director, TiE Kolkata)* from *TiE Kolkata* and along with that they also provided proper mentoring to the students. *Top 5 teams of IEM has got the opportunity to compete in the national level inter-college start up competition conducted by TiE, Kolkata.*

One of our Team won the AICTE inventor's challenge 2023,
Their project idea was " Low cost 3d printed prosthetic arm for medical rehabilitation" .

We have successfully completed the internal hackathon of Smart India Hackathon 2023.This time we got huge response from students.With 65 teams(6 members in each team) participating in this two-day extravaganza on the 20th and 21st of September, the enthusiasm among our students was electrifying! ⚡️

Today 5 teams from IEM Kolkata participated in IEEE WIE Hackathon,2023. Out of this 1st prize received in Women Empowerment Category,1st prize in Green Energy and 2nd Prize in Smart resource management.
