West Bengal Pollution Control Board

Day 2 of the 'Workshop on I.E.C. Management for Environment – Students & Teachers', organized by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal, was an insightful and engaging learning experience.

The sessions focused on strengthening soft skills and communication strategies essential for effective environmental advocacy. Participants explored key topics including:
- Communication Foundations
- Advocacy & Public Speaking
- IEC Tools and Multimedia for Environmental Campaigns
- Campaign Planning & Message Framing

Through interactive discussions and practical insights, the workshop empowered students and teachers with the skills needed to communicate environmental messages effectively and inspire positive change.

First Day of the “Workshop on Information, Education and Communication Management for Environment”

The workshop was successfully inaugurated by Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman, West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB). The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sangita Mitra, Director, WWF Eastern Region, Shri Samanjit Sengupta, WBCS (Exe.), Senior Personnel Manager, WBPCB; Nodal Officer – EEP and ex-officio Special Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, along with other distinguished officials.

The workshop is being organized by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal, aiming to strengthen communication, education, and information management for environmental protection and awareness.

The Environmental Quiz Competition under the Mission LiFE Programme was held on 9th March, 2026 at Paribesh Bhawan, Bidhannagar, Kolkata, organised by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal.

Students from various schools enthusiastically participated in the competition, showcasing their knowledge and awareness of environmental conservation and sustainable living. The event encouraged young minds to think critically about protecting the environment and adopting responsible lifestyle practices.
