he indigenous Coke Industry in India. Being the President of Indian Metallurgical Coke Manufacturers Association, he has greatly contributed in bringing the Coke Industry to a greater height in the country. Apart from being an eminent spokesperson, he has presented numerous papers on coal and coke in international conferences. With the wide spectrum of knowledge in manufacturing of coke for over three decades, he has carved a niche for himself in the growing coal coke industry. Sharma is the first person in the country to adopt the ‘Cold Stamping Method’ followed in China in the making of Low Ash Metallurgical Coke. Sharma is greatly concerned on the effect of air pollution by the Coke Oven Industry and has initiated remedial measures to prevent such pollution. All the plants of his organizations have maintained sufficient natural greenery and water bodies to check air and water pollution. Recently his presentation on ways to reduce pollution has been considered the best in a seminar on pollution organized by The Steel Authority of India Ltd. (Ministry of Iron & Steel) at Hyderabad, India. Also his presentation has been widely appreciated in the 8th China International Coking Technology and Coke Market Congress at Chengdu, China in the month of Sept, 2010. He is a regular Speaker in McCloskey Conferences, Coaltrans Conference, etc.
