In August 1998, with the help of veteran CPIM West Bengal Leader Prasanta Sur & Rabin Deb, Sunanda Goenka illegally secured her job as a Whole Time Teacher in Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College. Later as the Governing Body President of Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College, CPIM Leader Prasanta Sur illegally influenced the Higher Education Department of Government of West Bengal and Sunanda Goenka was granted Government Pay Protection & UGC Scale of Pay, despite not having UGC prescribed qualifications. Sunanda Goenka does not have NET in Law but then also she was granted Pay Protection & UGC Scale of Pay w.e.f. 01-04-2000. Today the circle is complete as we see that on May 9, 2025, in a CPIM minded event Sunanda Goenka (illegally appointed Principal of our College) sharing stage with CPIM Rajya Sabha MP Bikashranjan Bhattacharyya, who claims to be fighting against illegal appointments in Educational Institution.

Perhaps CPIM Leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya will not say anything here because a pandoras Box of CPIM’s illegal appointments has to be unfolded then. Will see what is the reaction of Shatarup Ghosh, Dipsita Dhar and Srijan Bhattacharyya, when they see their only MP from West Bengal sharing stage with an illegal appointee.

We urge that WBCUPA and its President Shri Bratya Basu takes necessary action to restore the lost glory of Mamata Banerjee's Alma Mater.

Before the High Court at Calcutta both the Government of West Bengal through Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal and the University Grants Commission on affidavit has stated that Sunanda Goenka’s appointment is illegal. We request our Governing Body President Smt. Mala Roy to take necessary steps in accordance with law at the earliest.

Today morning the Students of Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College wrote to the Kellogg College, University of Oxford asking them to make arrangements for live telecast of the speech to be delivered by Hon’ble Mamata Banerjee.

The Kellogg College accepted our request and made the necessary arrangements.
