It was named as Garden Reach Workshops Supervisory Staff Co-op. Credit and Thrift Society Ltd. Later the name was changed to GRSE Officers' Co-operative Credit Society Limited. This Co-operative Society was formed for the benefit of officers of GRSE Ltd., the leading shipyard of India which got the status of Mini Ratna- Category I.
