Jute Diversified Products & Carpet Exhibition-cum-Sale
Organized at Coal India Limited (Coal Bhawan H.O.)
Dates: 21st & 22nd May 2026

The JDP Exhibition-cum-Sale and Carpet Exhibition was successfully organized at the premises of Coal India Limited on 21st and 22nd May 2026 with the objective of promoting diversified jute products, handmade carpets, and eco-friendly lifestyle items among employees, officials, visitors, and stakeholders.

The exhibition provided an effective platform for showcasing the wide range of value-added jute diversified products (JDPs), handcrafted carpets, floor coverings, and utility items manufactured by artisans, self-help groups, and participating agencies. The initiative aimed to encourage sustainable and environmentally friendly products while creating market linkage opportunities for producers and artisans.

During the two-day programme, various categories of products including jute bags, office utility items, decorative products, handicrafts, carpets, rugs, and home furnishing materials were displayed for exhibition and sale. The exhibition attracted significant footfall from officials, employees, and visitors of Coal India, resulting in encouraging customer response and satisfactory sales performance. During the exhibition, the Managing Director, The Jute Corporation of India Limited, held discussions with the Director (HR), Coal India, regarding the promotion and wider usage of Jute Diversified Products (JDPs). The Director (HR), Coal India, expressed keen interest in procuring jute products for various official occasions and organizational requirements, appreciating the eco-friendly and sustainable nature of the products displayed at the exhibition.

The participating exhibitors received appreciation for the quality, design, and utility of the products displayed. Special emphasis was given to eco-friendly and biodegradable jute products in line with the Government of India’s initiative towards sustainable and green alternatives. Handmade carpets and floor coverings also drew considerable attention for their craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal, and durability.

The event also served as an awareness initiative to promote the use of natural fibre-based products and support the livelihood generation activities associated with the jute and carpet sectors. The interaction between consumers and exhibitors helped in understanding market preferences and exploring future business opportunities.

Overall, the JDP Exhibition-cum-Sale and Carpet Exhibition held at Coal India on 21st and 22nd May 2026 was conducted successfully and achieved its intended objectives of product promotion, market exposure, awareness generation, and sales facilitation. The programme reflected positive public engagement and highlighted the growing demand for sustainable and handcrafted products.

During the visit of Shri Sanjay Kumar Panigrahi, Managing Director, The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI), along with senior officials from the Head Office, to the Bethuadahari Regional Office, a plantation programme was undertaken in the premises of the Bethuadahari DPC as part of environmental awareness and green initiative activities.
