A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp under the “UTSARGA” initiative was organized today by Hare Street Police Station and South East Traffic Guard.

The programme was graced by Addl CP (I), Shri Devendra Prakash Singh, IPS, Jt CP Traffic, Shri Rupesh Kumar, IPS, and senior officers of Kolkata Police. Officers, personnel and members of the local community participated with great enthusiasm, reflecting a shared commitment towards this noble cause. A total of 122 donors voluntarily donated blood, making the initiative a remarkable success.

Verification has confirmed that the visuals being shared are unrelated, and the claims are entirely baseless.
Kolkata Police is closely monitoring the spread of such misinformation, and legal action is being initiated against those responsible for circulating false content.

Citizens are urged not to share unverified information.

Today, Honourable Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari paid visit to the Kolkata Police Headquarters, Lalbazar. He was warmly received by the Addl CP (I),Shri Devendra Prakash Singh, IPS, along with other senior officers of Kolkata Police.

During the visit, Honourable Chief Minister interacted with police personnel and praised the unwavering commitment, dedication, and tireless service rendered by Kolkata Police in safeguarding the city and its citizens. He shared his valuable guidance and words of encouragement with the officers present.

Marking his first official visit to Lalbazar after taking oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal, the occasion held special significance for the force and served as a moment of inspiration and encouragement for all ranks.

A misleading social media post is being circulated claiming that traffic was halted to facilitate the movement of the convoy of HCM. This claim is false and factually incorrect.

The traffic regulation seen in the circulated visuals was undertaken as part of a scheduled security and traffic arrangement in connection with the movement of the Secretary of State of the United States of America. In addition, traffic regulations are in place due to ongoing metro related work at Chingrighata.

A moment of accidental transfer turned into immense distress when a citizen mistakenly sent ₹40,000 to the wrong account through a digital payment platform.

Acting promptly on the complaint, the Cyber Cell of Central Division, Kolkata Police initiated swift follow-up and continuous coordination to trace and recover the amount. Owing to the dedicated efforts of the team, the entire ₹40,000 was successfully reclaimed and refunded to the victim’s account.

The victim has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the professionalism, prompt response, and relentless assistance provided by the officers.

Kolkata Police remains committed to assisting citizens and ensuring prompt action in cases of cyber-related grievances.

Under the blazing summer sun, while the city moves on, Kolkata Traffic Police personnel continue to stand steadfast at crossings and busy intersections, tirelessly performing their duties to keep citizens safe and traffic flowing smoothly.

In a heartfelt gesture of care and solidarity, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Shri Ajay Nand, IPS, along with other senior officers, today distributed ORS, water bottles, umbrellas, and sunglasses to traffic personnel on duty across the city.

The victim has conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the swift intervention, professionalism, and tireless efforts of the investigating team, whose sustained action ensured complete recovery of the defrauded amount.
