Consul General Barbara Voss along with Tom Reiner, Regional Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of attending the inauguration of new formulation facility of Wacker Metroark Chemicals as they expand their manufacturing plant here in Panagarh, West Bengal. This is a huge milestone for both Germany and India, showing the strength of our partnership and the growing opportunities in the region. 🌍✨

And yes, as part of the ceremony, there was the traditional coconut-breaking. 🥥 Our Consul General cracked it effortlessly, showing off her pro skills! 😂💥

Looking forward to seeing this venture grow and create more jobs and innovation in the area.

A step towards empowering young minds!

It is rightly said that books open doors to limitless possibilities and unlock a world of endless knowledge. Recently, Consulate General had the privilege of donating books to Tollygunge Ramdhanu Social Welfare Society
Tollygunge Ramdhanu Social Welfare Society, supporting 32 street-connected children in Kolkata and 100 tribal children in Murgaboni Village in West Bengal.

This initiative was made possible with the support of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata Goethe-Institut in Kolkata, our cultural language institute.

What is inspiring is that these children aren’t just learning from books—they’re also gaining valuable skills like painting, crochet, needlework at the Ramdhanu Social Welfare Society.

We are hopeful that this small step from our side will help the young minds use their potential to the fullest and build a brighter future for themselves. 📚✨

From the heart of Sundarbans: Women leading change. 🍞💪

Recently, the German Consul General visited Sagar Euro Bakery in Gangasagar—a fully women‑run bakery that's making a real difference. Funded by the Hamburg‑based Hanseatic India Forum e.V. Hanseatic India Forum and supported by Sabuj Sangha Sabuj Sangha, this project is empowering women and transforming lives.

The bakery located on Sagar Island which is home to over 200,000 people is more than just a place for fresh bread—it’s a space where women are building skills, creating opportunities, and working together to secure a better future for themselves and their families. With small acts of support, these women have gained financial independence, turning their hard work into a steady income.

This is the power of women leadership and community-driven change—together, we can build a brighter future. 🌟

While Ukraine is and has always been ready for a just peace, Putin still refuses to negotiate. That is the only reason why the war drags on. And that is why Germany continues to support Ukraine’s resistance. Until just and lasting peace becomes possible. 🇩🇪🇺🇦
