March 14, As an objective of Green India mission to restore and enhance India's Forest cover, a plantation drive has been carried out in CAMPA closure (Walinard) falling in compartment N-22 of forest Block Chimmer wherein Range Officer D H Pora and Forest Frontline staff actively participated. Besides forest frontline staff, the students from local school also attended the event with alacrity and contributed to plantation programme aimed at increasing green cover as an endeavour to protect Forests & environment.

A once-barren stretch of land in Nagam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has been transformed into a thriving green landscape, marking a notable success in forest regeneration under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) scheme.

DFO Kulgam said close coordination among field staff, regular supervision by officers and timely administrative support helped address challenges during different stages of the plantation, which was initiated during the tenure of former DFO Kulgam, Syed Wasim Gull.
