MASLOW’S HIERARCHY

What is Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs ?

It is a theory in psychology, propounded by Abraham Maslow which states about five categories of human needs that could express behaviors of individuals. It is a theory of motivation used to study human behavior and their motivational behaviors. This hierarchical
model extends its helps in observation of human innate curiosities.

MASLOW’S HIERARCHICAL NEEDS INCLUDE :

➢ Self actualization
➢ Esteem needs
➢ Relational needs
➢ Shelter needs
➢ Physiological needs

These are the five levels of human needs which picture human desires.
This theory of needs suggests that people should attain satisfaction in lower level needs in order to attain higher level needs. It is really helpful and useful model of hierarchy in analyzing employee motivation. May help in building and maintaining high level of
motivation.

“Lucknow has always been associated with a rich culture and hospitality. Lucknow Mahotsav is organised every year to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the city. The event is typically organised at the end of year. We had set up a free 10 days health camp at Lucknow Mahotsav held in 2018 from November 25 to December 5. We’re grateful to the security and administration for their support and assistance in setting up and maintaining the camp. Additional Director General of Police (Allahabad) also helped and supported us. The camp was made possible because of his support and help. Additional District Magistrate (Lucknow East) also supported our cause. During the day we mostly attended to the Mahotsav workers, these people had come from different cities to work for the event. During the evenings, when the Mahotsav is in full swing, we attended to many people that attended the event. The event was completely financially supported by the NGO’s president. It was an exhilarating 10 day experience.
The event couldn’t have been successful without the help of our esteemed panel members. We’d like to thank Dr. Rahul Singh, Dr. Sanu Srivastava, Dr. Pratishtha, Dr. Deepshikha, Dr. Pratibha Singh, Dr. R. P. Dohare, Dr. Satya Dohare and Dr. Pratisha Singh for their contributions to our cause by being a part of our panel. We’d also like to thank Savitri Singh, Monika Singh (Medical Student), Siddharth Singh (Medical Student), Sonu Kumar, Mrs. Promila, Ayush Sabat and Gurubax Singh for their help.”

“Here at Badlav Seva Samiti we believe that all social issues we face today could be eradicated easily if all of us come together and combat those with our own little gestures. We believe in the power of masses and in humanity. We’re a non - government, non - profit organization working with and for the society to make it a better place.

We started our journey two years ago and ever since then we’ve been touched by the amount of support and gratitude and smiles we’ve received. Initially, we had our doubts about this venture, about how we’d bring the change we wished to see but along the road we were stoked to see the response we received. We targeted different niches, as many as we could, to combat the several social evils our country faces today. At the start, we couldn’t cover all the domains we wished to but as we built ourselves our reach increased and we’re eternally grateful to everyone who supported us.

Today, we wish to bring an all-round development to the society by targeting various domains together with our resources. We provide Social, Medical, Educational, Economic and Legal Empowerment and aid to women and other under privileged sections of the society. We work for the preservation of the regal art and culture of our society. We organize, host, conduct or support social, cultural and educational events to engage the youth in healthy and productive activities. Overall, we wish to build a more influential, equal, robust and socially conscious society while maintaining our Integrity as a community and showing empathy with everyone.

Together, we can build a better tomorrow for all of us.”

“Ever since I was a young boy I always thought of doing something to help others. I always believed that a kind gesture, no matter how small it seemed, would make the world a tad bit better. That drive of wanting to make the world a better place was what led to the formation of Badlav Seva Samiti. We wanted to combat various issues one step at a time. We didn’t have a lot of members but our determination was more than enough to compensate for it. I still remember Kannauj Health Camp was the third we had organised that year. Our hopes and energy levels were high because of the resounding success of the last two health camps. We all worked day and night for networking and securing connections and when the day finally came everything was just right. The villagers welcomed us warmly and even helped us set up. Some people had walked miles to attend our health camp and looking at that made our hearts swell. We worked relentlessly and treated more than 500 people that day providing them free medication, check-ups, collecting blood samples. The feeling that came over us after looking at their happy & grateful faces was more than enough to keep us motivated. Right before the closing time of the camp our team was informed of an elderly woman who was extremely ill and was unable to make it to the camp. She resided at the same village; we decided to visit her before leaving. Her house was dimly lit and her daughter was at the door to greet us. We performed a health check-up and provided her with the necessary medications for one month. Both of them were extremely grateful for our efforts and kept thanking us constantly. As we were heading out the woman called out after us and told us that we were their only hope, her eyes were glazed over, tears about to spill out but she was smiling and that smile is what strengthened our belief that even if something is a mere act of kindness for you it could change someone’s life. That’s what keeps us going.”
