Today, FFF Meerut along with Environment Club participated in Plantation Drive being organized by Forest Dept. Meerut on occasion of Launching of at Ch. Charan Singh University Campus.

Today, was jointly organized by Fridays for Fridays for Future, MeerutFridays for Future, Meerut Meerut and Environment Club at Begumpul Square. The youth made people aware about the changing weather cycle and the effects of climate change. Appealed to the society for protection of the earth by raising slogans like 'जल संकट से कैसे बचोगे?', 'मेरठ को चाहिए आजादी, कूड़े के ढ़ेर से', 'जाग जाओ जाग जाओ, पृथ्वी वालों जाग जाओ', 'हवाओं में ज़हर है'. While addressing, coordinator and club founder Sawan Kanojia said that today under the guise of industrialization and development, trees are being cut indiscriminately, along with the use of plastic they are also being burnt which causes air pollution, day by day water crisis is emerging due to wastage of water and the global temperature is increasing rapidly due to carbon emissions. If we do not plant trees today, then in the future the existence of human civilization will end. And said that the month of March, which was earlier cold, is now hot, this is the biggest indicator of climate change. An appeal was also made to the Meerut administration to permanently remove the garbage piles located at different places in Meerut and people were motivated not to throw garbage anywhere. The youth participated in the strike called upon the society to save water, not to throw/burn garbage anywhere, reduce carbon emissions and plant more trees and protect them.

We're organising this Chaupal in jointly with Groundwater Dept. Mrt under the ongoing "Groundwater Week 2021".
