The Testing Facilities in the beginning was limited to only certain tests such as coating thickness, leaching test, and for element analysis. MHSC has undertaken upgradation plan during 2004. An independent laboratory was set up as a division of MHSC under a new name as Research Testing and Calibration Laboratory. ( RTCL ) The RTC Laboratory has its independent floor in MHSC, which has been renovated to meet the requirements of A - World-Class Laboratory . BENEFITS TO THE EXPORTERS

The RTC Laboratory provides the services for consignment inspection and the related testing of their handicraft products as per Buyers Protocols . R&D FACILITIES

The Laboratory will undertake any project sponsored by the industry for their Research and Development activities. Laboratory will work with close coordination with the Technology Resource Centre ( TRC ) and provide inputs to them relating to R&D projects such as various types of metallic and non metallic coatings, analysis of various Toxic & Non – Toxic elements in metals products and non metals. At present NMHC establishing SiOx Coating with the help of FCIPT – IPR Gandhi Nagar under DST Project . TRAINING FACILITIES

Although the NMHC conducting the Training programmed as the demand of Metal Industry, similarly RTC Laboratory will also be provide training facilities for the personnel of the industry for enhancing their knowledge in the Quality Control & Inspection of Finished Products as per International Guidelines / Standards. The training programmes are conducted in this Center for the last two decades, From the feedback of trainees, training courses used to be much useful to them either to start their own processing units or to get employment with exporters or buying agencies.
