Yogesh Meena, member of Disha Students' Organization and a student of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University has been illegally kidnapped by Uttar Pradesh STF from in front of Ramjas College at around 1 pm today.

Four personnel of UP Special Task Force, impersonating as Delhi Police, picked up Yogesh and Sameer (another member of Disha) alleging that there is some police complaint against them. However, the police first took them towards Noida and then to Maurice Nagar Police Station, where Sameer was released after being intimidated and questioned about Noida. However, the UP STF illegally took Yogesh to Noida. Once again, the UP Police has acted in a completely lawless manner with complete impunity, abducting another conscientious young student and citizen in complete violation of all legal procedure. Yogesh was not given any notice, grounds of arrest, and neither were his lawyers, friends, or family informed.

Yogesh’s exact whereabouts are currently unknown. We cannot let UP Police to continue its illegal witch-hunt.

♦️Poster-Making Workshop in Mumbai♦️

Disha Students’ Organization organised a Poster Making Workshop. The session turned into a lively space of colours, conversations and creativity. Students from different parts of Mumbai came together to understand the basics, from how simple lines and shapes can build form, to playing with layouts, fonts and visual balance.

We must understand that art isn't just about technique but also a form of expression of human thoughts and emotions. Good art is a mirror held up to reality , and even better art is the art that is a hammer that shapes reality itself.Words of Faiz, Rahul Sankrityayan, Bertolt Brecht, Bhagat Singh and many others found their way into posters, reminding us how art has always spoken to struggles and change.

नोएडा येथे उत्तर प्रदेश पोलिसांकडून सुरू असलेल्या कामगार आंदोलनाच्या दडपशाहीच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर वरिष्ठ पत्रकार आणि सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते सत्यम वर्मा तसेच विद्यार्थी कार्यकर्ती व कलाकार आकृती चौधरी यांच्यावर 'राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा कायदा' (NSA) अंतर्गत कारवाई सुरू करण्यात आली आहे. त्याविरोधात दिनांक 15 मे रोजी पुणे जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयासमोर एका आंदोलनाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. त्यात दिशा विद्यार्थी संघटनेने सहभाग नोंदवला.

आपल्या सर्वांना ठाऊकच आहे की, गेल्या अनेक महिन्यांपासून देशाच्या विविध ठिकाणी असंघटित कामगार वेतनवाढ, कामाचे तास, किमान वेतन आणि कामाच्या ठिकाणची दयनीय परिस्थिती या मागण्यांसाठी रस्त्यावर उतरले आहेत. एप्रिल महिन्याच्या सुरुवातीपासून अशी आंदोलने नोएडाच्या औद्योगिक भागातही सुरू झाली.

मात्र, सन्मानाने जगण्याच्या न्याय्य मागण्यांसाठी रस्त्यावर उतरलेल्या या कामगारांना उत्तर प्रदेश पोलिस आणि सरकारकडून भयंकर दडपशाहीला सामोरे जावे लागले. हिंसा भडकवल्याच्या नावाखाली अनेक कामगार, कामगार कार्यकर्ते आणि सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांवर खोटे आरोप लावून त्यांना अटक करण्यात आली आहे. यामध्ये रुपेश रॉय, मनीषा चौहान, सृष्टी गुप्ता, सत्यम वर्मा यांच्यासोबतच दिशा विद्यार्थी संघटनेचे कार्यकर्ते आकृती चौधरी आणि हिमांशू ठाकूर यांचा समावेश आहे. गेल्या एक महिन्यापासून हे सर्व कार्यकर्ते तुरुंगात आहेत, परंतु यूपी पोलिस त्यांच्याविरोधात अद्याप एकही पुरावा सादर करू शकलेले नाहीत. आणि आता सत्यम वर्मा व आकृती चौधरी यांच्यावर राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा कायद्यासारख्या जाचक कायद्यांतर्गत कारवाई करण्यात येत आहे. इतर कार्यकर्त्यांवरही 'रासुका' अंतर्गत कारवाई केली जाईल, असे म्हटले जात आहे. यावरून स्पष्ट होते की, सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांविरोधात कोणताही पुरावा नसल्यामुळे उत्तर प्रदेश पोलिसांना कार्यकर्त्यांना जास्तीत जास्त काळ तुरुंगात डांबून ठेवण्यासाठी रासुकासारख्या काळ्या कायद्याची मदत घ्यावी लागत आहे.

दिशा विद्यार्थी संघटनेकडून आपले मत मांडताना मिराज म्हणाले की, एका बाजूला विद्यार्थी, युवक आणि सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते भगतसिंग व त्यांच्या साथीदारांनी दाखवलेल्या मार्गावर चालत कामगार-कष्टकऱ्यांच्या न्याय्य मागण्यांसोबत उभे राहत आहेत, तर दुसऱ्या बाजूला आपल्याला दोनशे वर्षे गुलाम बनवणाऱ्या इंग्रज शासकांच्या पावलावर पाऊल ठेवत आजचे फॅसिस्ट सत्ताधारी कामगार आणि सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांचे दमन करत आहेत. तेही ब्रिटिशांच्या दमनकारी रौलेट अॅक्टवर आधारित असलेल्या NSA चा वापर करून.

मुळात, कामगार आणि बहुसंख्य कष्टकरी जनतेची आजची बिकट परिस्थिती आणि त्याविरोधातील त्यांचा आवाज दाबण्यासाठीच यूपी पोलिस व यूपी सरकार या आंदोलनात अस्तित्वात नसलेले कट-कारस्थान शोधत आहेत. दुसरे म्हणजे, वेतनवाढ, कामाचे तास, किमान वेतन यांसारख्या मूलभूत मुद्द्यांवर जेव्हा देशातील सर्वसामान्य जनता आवाज उठवते, तेव्हा हे फॅसिस्ट सत्ताधारी त्याला 'देशविरोधी कृत्य' ठरवून टाकतात. देशातील बहुसंख्य कष्टकरी जनताच देशविरोधी कशी असू शकते? खरे तर, या सत्ताधाऱ्यांचे समीकरण असे आहे - देश म्हणजे भांडवलदार आणि भांडवलदारांचा विरोध म्हणजेच देशाचा विरोध. आणि म्हणूनच भांडवलदारांच्या व त्यांच्या नफ्याच्या सुरक्षेसाठी हे फॅसिस्ट त्यांच्याविरोधातील प्रत्येक आवाज चिरडण्यासाठी तत्पर असतात. या प्रकरणात यूपी पोलिस आणि यूपी सरकारची भूमिका काहीशी अशीच आहे.

पण इतिहास साक्ष आहे की, कोणत्याही प्रकारच्या दडपशाहीने जनतेचा प्रतिकार कधीही थांबलेला नाही आणि भल्याभल्या हुकूमशहांना, अन्यायकारी शासकांना जनतेच्या एकजुटीने इतिहासाच्या कचराकुंडीत टाकले आहे. आणि आजही हीच एकजूट आपली खरी ताकद आहे.

दिशा विद्यार्थी संघटना, यूपी पोलिसांनी सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते सत्यम वर्मा आणि आकृती चौधरी यांच्यावर लावलेल्या राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा कायद्याचा जाहीर निषेध करते आणि NSA सारखा काळा कायदा रद्द झाला पाहिजे, अशी मागणी करते. आकृती आणि हिमांशू या दिशा विद्यार्थी संघटनेच्या कार्यकर्त्यांसह सर्व सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते व कामगारांची त्वरित सुटका करण्यात यावी, अशीही मागणी करते. सोबतच विद्यार्थी-तरुणांना हे आवाहन करते की, आज विद्यार्थ्यांची खरी जबाबदारी ही देशातील बहुसंख्य कष्टकरी, कामगार जनतेच्या न्याय्य मागण्यांसोबत उभे राहणे हीच आहे.

Disha Students’ Organization Holds Protest at Mumbai University Against NEET 2026 Paper Leak Scam

On Thursday, 14th May, Disha Students’ Organization held a protest demonstration at the Kalina Campus of University of Mumbai against the NEET 2026 paper leak scam and the destruction of ordinary students’ futures by the current profit-driven examination system. More than 22 lakh students had appeared for the examination on 3rd May, which was later cancelled by the NTA following allegations of paper leaks. Students raised slogans condemning corruption in the examination system and demanded accountability from the authorities responsible.

Speaking at the protest, Rakshandha, a third-year LL.B. student, highlighted the regularity of such scams under the NTA. She pointed out that more than 55 examination scams have taken place in the last five years alone, exposing the deep crisis in the country’s examination system. She spoke about the complicity of the fascist BJP government and its links with the corrupt functioning of the NTA. According to her, these paper leaks are not isolated incidents or the fault of ordinary students, but the result of a deliberate nexus between politicians, officials, private companies, and education mafias who benefit from the continued privatization and commercialization of education.

Rakshandha also raised concerns regarding question papers being printed through private presses, arguing that this increases the possibility of leaks and manipulation. She demanded that all examination papers be printed only through government presses under strict public accountability. She further stated that while lakhs of students spend years preparing for competitive examinations with immense pressure and sacrifice, the ruling establishment continues to treat their futures with complete disregard.

Dhananjay, an M.A. History student, spoke about the growing communalization of the education system. He criticized the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and said that the fascist State and its capitalist overlords are attempting to intensify the privatization of education while reducing educational institutions into machines that suppress critical thinking and merely produce clerical labour. He argued that education is increasingly being transformed into a commodity accessible only to the privileged, while ordinary students are pushed into insecurity and uncertainty.

He also condemned the saffronization of education and the attempt to turn syllabi into tools of propaganda for the BJP government. According to him, the attacks on public education, repeated examination scams, and the communalization of education are all interconnected aspects of a broader political project aimed at weakening democratic and scientific thinking among students and youth.

The protest concluded with a performance by the cultural team, who sang “Aa Re Naujawan,” a song calling upon students and youth to unite in the struggle for an egalitarian society free from corruption, communalization, and exploitation.
