After driving 250 Kms for 8 hours to the deep interiors of Maharashtra we couldn't have asked for any better Saturday.

Yesterday we targeted labourers in Ambewadi, Fanswadi & Karalevadi in Karjat. It's a logistically nightmare location and Covid to add more complications to it.

Every bit of your contribution is helping a needy family to not go empty stomach.

131 Kms - 7 hours drive - Dharavi Slums - Ambivali west

Two extreme sides of Mumbai but it couldn't have gone any better.

We targeted daily wage labourers who are widows & single mothers in Dharavi and Blind & Handicapped families in Ambivali west.

Help Our Labourers Initiative

Your support & contribution reached to 50 families, ~200 people with ~12000 meals in Anand, Gujarat today. Covid has gone to every nook and corner hampering the daily life of people in many ways. These labourers who lost their jobs and were dependent on their daily salaries need our help in whatever way possible.

Thank you for supporting us. It's because of you they will not sleep empty stomach tonight 🙏

With all your support last year same period we delivered ~7.5 Lakh meals to ~15,000 labourers in the outskirts of Mumbai & in Mumbai who were impacted due to Covid outbreak. Now with this second wave the struggle out there has multiplied 2X and labourers have again gone back for food hunting as they are out of jobs. Hence we have decided to restart the initiative and reach to as many needy as possible.

Today was again a humble start of the Ration kit distribution activity in Anand, Gujarat. We along with RRSA-'Rescue and Rehabilitation of Stray Animals' identified few labourers in the outskirts of Anand and people living on footpath and delivered 25 ration kits which will suffice them for a month.

We will soon plan to start this initiative again in Maharshtra as well however the underlying principal would be “Any needy who is impacted due to Covid in any part of the country” would be served. Slums in Anand (Gujarat) where labourers reside is highly effected as they don't have any work because of Covid19 and at the same time they don't even have basic amenities like electricity and infrastructure. We as a team were able to reach out to 80 such families with one month's ration for a family of 4. This is just an iota of the overall universe but with your support we have been trying to do our bit. Thank YOU for empowering us. Thank YOU once again. 🙏

This entire journey that has lasted for 2 months but has left us with memories and emotions that will last a lifetime.

As the first phase of our Initiative comes to an end, we want to thank - Our Donors, Our Followers, Our Incredible Artists that performed soulfully for our cause, every Volunteer that helped us week after week in executing the drive seamlessly and every person that spread the word.

Through this cause, we have made countless new friends and have met Individuals that have inspired us immensely.

We want you all to know that THIS WAS ACHIEVED BECAUSE OF YOU! Thank you All!

Every time you spread the word and every time you contributed, you helped feed a family that was having sleepless hunger ridden days and nights!

HUNGER SEES NO RAIN OR SHINE, and so our Team set out yet another weekend, to provide Ration Kits to 375 Families in Kandivali, Ramgadh and Mankhurd that need Food the most!

Thank You alll yet again for supporting us all this time!! When we set out to do this we had no idea that we could make a difference week after week in so many people's lives!!

WEEK 7 saw us collaborating with an amazing COVID-19 soldier, so we could connect with families in Kandivali that really needed our help!

WEEK 6 UPDATE

This Weekend, our Team split into two and together we were able to cover so many families!!!! It was a very fruitful week.

We cannot thank all of you enough. Each one of you have made this happen! The numbers shown in this post represent real human beings that were devoid of something as basic as food.

We need your support even today to make sure we have a Week 7, and then a Week 8 and so on..... Until India has COVID-19 FREE 🧡
