World Food Day 2025 | “Water is Life, Water is Food”

On the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (13th October), DDMA Nashik organized a training and awareness program on disaster preparedness.
Guided by Hon. District Collector Shri Ayush Prasad (IAS) and Hon. Resident Deputy Collector Shri Rohitkumar Rajput, the event featured:
➡️ Expert sessions by NDRF (5 BN Pune) on rescue and emergency response
➡️ UNDP sessions on community-based disaster risk reduction
➡️ MNGL Nashik on industrial and gas safety awareness
Volunteers and officials from Police, Fire Services, PWD, Irrigation, and Aapda Mitra teams participated enthusiastically.
The programme also included a felicitation ceremony for volunteers who made remarkable contributions to disaster response.
Together, we move towards a safer, resilient Maharashtra! 💪

🔔 Cyclone Shakhti Update – IMD Bulletin (0530 IST, 6 Oct 2025)
The Severe Cyclonic Storm “Shakhti” [Pronounced Shakhti] over the west-central and adjoining northwest Arabian Sea has weakened into a Cyclonic Storm.
It moved nearly southwards at 5 kmph during the past 6 hours and lay centred near 19.6° N and 60.4° E.
📍 200 km SE of Masirah (Oman)
📍 310 km SSE of Ras Al Hadd (Oman)
📍 910 km SW of Karachi (Pakistan)
📍 950 km WSW of Dwarka (India)
📍 970 km WSW of Naliya (India)
🌀 It is likely to move east-southeastwards over the Arabian Sea and weaken into a Depression by 7 Oct morning.
