Actor Suriya recently inaugurated the new office of the Agaram Foundation, located on Arulambal Street in T. Nagar, Chennai. He emphasized that this facility was constructed entirely from his personal earnings, without utilizing any donated funds.
Established in 2006, the Agaram Foundation has been instrumental in providing educational opportunities to underprivileged students across Tamil Nadu. To date, the foundation has supported over 5,000 students, with more than 70% being female. Currently, it assists over 2,000 students, focusing on those who are orphaned, school dropouts, or unable to afford higher education.
Suriya highlighted the crucial role of volunteers in the foundation's success, referring to them as the organization's backbone. The foundation receives over 10,000 applications annually, and Suriya has appealed to the public for continued support, assuring that every rupee donated is dedicated to education and related expenses.
The inauguration of the new office marks a significant milestone in Agaram Foundation's journey, reflecting its growth and unwavering commitment to empowering underprivileged students through education.
