On 21st April 2026, RCMME distributed sanitary napkins to 50 schoolgirls of Late Smt. Meenatai Thakre Madhyamik Vidyalaya.
A special highlight of this initiative was the inspiring contribution of 17-year-old Neha, granddaughter of our very own Rtn. Dr. Meenal Gupte.
Born and brought up in Florida, USA, Neha carries a deep connection and love for her roots in India.
During their visits to India, her parents, Dr. Anand Gupte and Dr. Asmita Gupte, have always made it a point to take her to rural and remote areas, helping her understand the realities of underprivileged communities, including rural and Adivasi populations. These experiences have instilled in her a strong desire to give back meaningfully.
Whenever Neha visits India, she actively participates in outreach efforts with her parents engaging with women in rural areas, spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene, and distributing sanitary napkins.
The sanitary napkins distributed are stitched by the North Florida Sewing Center and the Monday and Tuesday Clubs of the Rotary Club of Greater Gainesville. Demonstrating remarkable initiative, Neha raised $500 through small projects with these clubs to support this cause. Each napkin kit also includes an informative pamphlet on menstrual hygiene.
Kudos to Neha for her compassion and dedication at such a young age. Heartfelt gratitude to past Rtn. Dr. Meenal Gupte for nurturing such strong values of empathy and service within her family.
The project was attended by Rtn Ujwala Jiandani,
Rtn Shaline Serpes and Rtn Jasmeet Sehmi Talwar

HPV Vaccination Drive for Girls – Boisar

The Rotary Club of Mulund and the Rotary Club of Mumbai Mulund East, in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Boisar Branch (186), successfully conducted an HPV Vaccination Drive for Girls on 6th February 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Prabodhankar Thackeray Vidyalaya, Boisar (Awadh Nagar).

The primary objective of this initiative was to prevent cervical cancer through timely HPV vaccination and to create awareness about women’s health, early prevention, and long-term well-being.

A total of 200 girls were vaccinated during the drive. The medical team comprised five trained nurses and one lady doctor, ensuring a smooth, safe, and well-coordinated process. All standard medical protocols were followed, and the girls were counselled appropriately to help reduce anxiety and encourage positive acceptance of preventive healthcare.

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Mulund East successfully completed the renovation of the kitchen at the Primary School in Thakurwadi, Jambrung Village, Khopoli — creating a safer and better space to prepare nutritious meals for the children.

A small inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, graced by DGN, Rotary District 3141, Rtn. Deepak Jiandani, who formally dedicated the renovated kitchen to the school.

This project was made possible through the funds raised during our musical evening “Yeh Shaam Mastani”. Every contribution, every effort, and every bit of guidance helped us take this step toward ensuring that our little angels — the future of our nation — are nourished with good food in a healthy environment.

RCMME is deeply grateful to all our supporters, donors, and well-wishers who stood with us in turning this vision into reality and bringing smiles to these young faces.
