The Farmers’ Interactive Panel Discussion at the IOPEPC Capacity Building Program & Trade Meet, Rajkot, brought together progressive farmers of Gujarat in direct dialogue with the trade community. Their first-hand accounts of ground realities, crop conditions, and market challenges provided an invaluable perspective — one that no data presentation can fully replace. IOPEPC remains committed to ensuring that the farmer’s voice is central to every trade conversation.

As India advances towards deeper trade integration with the European Union, quality compliance will remain central to strengthening market access and global competitiveness.

To fully realise the potential of the India–EU FTA, there is a need for transparent and science-based compliance systems, greater recognition of laboratory equivalence, and streamlined certification and inspection mechanisms. Such collaborative approaches can help reduce unnecessary Technical Barriers to Trade (TBTs) and facilitate smoother exports for Indian agri-products.

India is one of the world’s most significant suppliers of sesame seed and at the IOPEPC Trade Meet, Rajkot, the full picture of that responsibility was laid out in detail. Mr. Shailendra Singh Rajput, Olam Agri, presented a thorough analysis of the global demand and supply scenario for sesame seed — bringing an international trade perspective to the room. Mr. Jay Chandarana, Convener, Sesame Seed and Sesame Oil Panel, IOPEPC, followed with a holistic view of India’s domestic sesame scenario — the ground realities, the market dynamics, and what the season ahead demands from the trade. For every exporter and trader present, these presentations were not just data. They were the foundation for every strategic decision that follows.

The groundnut sessions at the IOPEPC Capacity Building Program & Trade Meet, Rajkot opened with a detailed presentation on the Global Demand and Supply Scenario by Mr. Tushar Thumar, Joint Convener, Groundnut and Groundnut Oil Panel, IOPEPC — mapping where Indian groundnut stands in international markets today, the demand dynamics shaping the season, and the opportunities that lie ahead. This was followed by a presentation on the Holistic View of Groundnut — Domestic Scenario by Mr. Sanjiv Sawla, Convener, Groundnut and Groundnut Oil Panel, IOPEPC — offering the trade a comprehensive and data-backed assessment of India’s groundnut market from the ground up. Two perspectives. One complete picture of where Indian groundnut is headed.

The Summer Crop Survey 2026 took centre stage at the IOPEPC Capacity Building Program & Trade Meet, Rajkot — with a detailed presentation on India’s sesame and groundnut output for the season ahead. This was followed by an in-depth Q&A session on the Rabi Crop Survey 2026, bringing critical data and ground-level insights directly to the trade community. Because understanding the harvest is the first step to shaping the market.
