The violence unleashed in the aftermath of the West Bengal Assembly elections is a calculated attempt by the BJP to target political opponents and create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. With the Election Commission effectively controlling the administration during this period, it too bears responsibility for the large scale lawlessness and attacks being witnessed across the state.

Several political party offices have been attacked and, in Murshidabad, Lenin’s statue has been demolished by BJP hooligans. We strongly condemn these cowardly acts of political vandalism. This attack on Lenin is nothing but an expression of the BJP’s deep fear of the Left ideology and its appeal among the people.

Lenin remains a towering symbol of anti-imperialism, social justice and the struggle for equality. He was a steadfast supporter of India’s freedom movement and inspired generations of revolutionaries across the world, including our own Bhagat Singh. Under the Red Flag, hundreds made the supreme sacrifice for the liberation of our country and the rights of working people while the RSS was obedient to the British.

The RSS-BJP knows that electoral setbacks cannot silence the communists or deter them from forcefully raising the issues of the people and holding those in power accountable. They know that it is only the Left which possesses the ideological clarity and political courage to challenge their divisive and diabolical agenda.

Such attacks will neither intimidate us nor defeat us. The Red Flag will continue to fly high in defence of democracy, secularism, social justice and the rights of the people.

कार्ल मार्क्स यांचे निवडक विचार!

Remembering Karl Marx on his birth anniversary.

A towering thinker and a relentless revolutionary, Marx reshaped how we understand society, history and power. His work spanned philosophy, economics and politics, exposing the roots of exploitation and giving the working class a scientific framework to challenge it.

From analysing capitalism to inspiring movements across continents, his ideas have left an indelible mark on human history. More than a scholar, he was a guide to action, whose vision continues to energise struggles for equality, dignity and justice.

Marx did not just interpret the world. He changed it forever.

Red Salute!

The CPI strongly condemns the unprecedented hike of ₹993/cylinder in commercial LPG prices. A commercial gas cylinder will now cost over ₹3100 in Delhi after this brutal increase.

Continuous increases in fuel prices reflects the government’s failure to safeguard India’s interests in a challenging global situation. Instead of ensuring stability in fuel prices, the burden is being shifted onto ordinary people. Eateries, dhabas, hostels, PG accommodations and small businesses across the country will feel the impact immediately, leading to higher food prices and rising living costs.

Coming just a day after voting, this confirms what the CPI had warned: that LPG and other fuel prices would be increased once elections were over, because the government is focused solely on electoral gains rather than people’s livelihoods. Once the votes are cast, the burden is pushed onto the common people in an unprecedented manner. This is deeply unjust.

CPI firmly opposes such anti-people measures and there will be a determined struggle to compel the government to roll back this attack on working people across the country.
