MATEXIL extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles & External Affairs, Shri Pabitra Margherita, for visiting its office in Mumbai and interacting with exporters.

During the interactive meeting, various important issues related to exports of Manmade Fibre Textiles and Technical Textiles were discussed. Exporters also highlighted the challenges being faced due to the prevailing global trade environment.

The Hon’ble Minister assured that all issues raised during the meeting would be duly examined and extended his full support to MATEXIL’s efforts in enhancing exports of MMF textiles and technical textiles.

MATEXIL’s 71st Annual General Meeting, held at Hotel President, Mumbai on 30th Sep 2025 deliberated on various important areas pertaining to Exports of Manmade Fiber Textiles and Technical Textiles in addition to the rapidly changing global ecosystem and its associated challenges.

The Annual General Meeting brought members together to share ideas on strengthening the Manmade Fiber Textiles and Technical Textiles Sector.

Glad to inform you that MATEXIL participated in a Business Session in Russia on 27 August 2025, in which representatives from various Trade Bodies, Associations, Buyers, Logistic Companies, Insurance Companies, Banks, etc. had participated and had a brainstorming session.

The discussions in the business sessions by all the participants clearly indicated that there is good potential to Export Manmade Fiber Textiles and Technical Textiles from India to Russia.

We need to capitalise on this opportunity.

Glad to inform that MATEXIL's participation in INTERFABRIC 2025 Autumn from 26–28 August 2025, along with Indian companies, was successful and fruitful, as reported by the participating Companies.

Russian Buyers are keen to buy Manmade Fiber Textiles and Technical Textiles from India. I urge Exporters to look into the potentially high market in Russia and capitalise on it.

Webinar conducted on Seamless Rupee – Rouble Export Proceeds Settlement with Russia

MATEXIL jointly with SBER Bank, Russia conducted a webinar on “Seamless Export Proceeds Settlement in Rupee for Exports of Man-made Fibre Textiles and Technical Textiles to Russia” on 27 June 2025. Around 50 member - exporters took part in it.

The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), set up in 1954, is one of the oldest Export Promotion Councils in India. The Council has played a transforming role over the years, inculcating export culture and promoting exports of Indian man-made fibre and textiles. Exports of these items, which were negligible in the 1960s, have grown substantially to touch US$6.2 billion during 2018-19. India exports to over 140 countries at present.

The Council envisages exports to the tune of US$ 12 billion by the end of 2024. The MMF textiles industry contributes about 17% of the total Indian textile exports and this share is growing. India is the sixth largest exporter of MMF textiles in the world.
