Indian Representation in the 2026 DJBIC World Index:

The 2026 Dow Jones Best in Class (DJBIC) World Index highlights a critical intersection between global sustainability leadership and financial performance. Evaluated via the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), this index tracks the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global BMI using long-term economic, environmental, and social (ESG) criteria.
An analysis of the 2026 constituents reveals distinct trends regarding financial viability and geographic distribution:

Financial Performance and Validation
Proven Returns: The index achieved a 10 year annualised return of approximately 10.86%.
Strategic Alignment: This performance debunks the premise that ESG integration compromises yield, proving that robust sustainability metrics correlate with long-term financial viability.

Geographic Disparity and Dominance
Developed Markets: The United States continues its structural dominance with a 38.7% weight, followed by Germany at 8%.
Asian Leaders: Taiwan holds a commanding 15% market weight, establishing a highly consolidated footprint in the index.
The Indian Paradox: India secured 18 corporate slots within the 323 company index. While this highlights the rising global competitiveness of Indian firms, India's total index weight sits at a minuscule less than 01%. This gap indicates that while Indian firms are hitting sustainability benchmarks, their relative market capitalisation within the index remains low compared to and Taiwanese peers.

Human Skills + AI"

Human Skills + AI isn’t about replacement. It’s about amplification.
As we watch global markets react to the high-stakes Beijing Summit this week, one thing is glaringly obvious. Data moves markets, but human negotiation and strategy close the deals. The future doesn't belong to AI alone. It belongs to the professionals who use AI to handle the data scaffolding, freeing up their time to double down on irreplaceable human skills.
💡 First-Principles Reasoning: Solving complex problems when historical data doesn’t exist.
❤️ Emotional Intelligence: Reading the room, resolving friction, and building authentic trust.
🎯 Strategic Context: Turning raw machine outputs into actual business value.
AI is the vehicle, but you are still the driver.

What is one human skill you are doubling down on this year? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Deeply saddened by the passing of Raghu Rai, one of the world’s finest visual storytellers. Though I never met him personally, his legendary work has inspired me profoundly from harrowing Bhopal Gas Tragedy images to intimate portraits of and , and vivid captures of India’s everyday beauty and humanity.
A Padma Shri (1972) recipient, Magnum Photos maestro handpicked by Henri Cartier Bresson, and author of iconic books like Raghu Rai’s India and Mother Teresa. He didn’t just photograph India; he revealed its pulsing heart.
Heartfelt condolences to his wife Gurmeet Rai and children Nitin, Lagan, Avani, and Purvai. Rest in peace, Raghu ji. Your lens endures.
🕉️ शांति।

On the eve of World Book Day, I’m reflecting on a journey that began four years ago at Bijapali, Lakhanpur,, Dist- Jharsuguda (Odisha).
In 2022, I had the privilege of donating 10,000+ books to support underprivileged students in . My goal was simple: to ensure that financial constraints never stand in the way of a student’s dream to clear competitive exams. During this four years over 50 engineers, 07 doctors & 05 entrepreneurs got produced here. Many more will come out including UPSE qualifiers.
Recently spoke to the college Principal Sri Ramaniranjan Biswal committed another 20-25 computers. Students can now access eBooks and eWorld for enhance preparation specially for civil servants exams.
Books are more than just paper; they are the ultimate equalisers. Seeing these resources empower the next generation of leaders and civil servants is a reminder that one collective effort can ignite a thousand fires of ambition.
Happy ! Let’s keep building libraries and bridging gaps. 📚✨

Shashi Tharoor’s article is a thoughtful and mature take on India’s foreign policy in a complex, multipolar world. He masterfully defends the government’s decision to maintain silence on the ongoing West Asia conflict (involving US:Israel actions against Iran) not as moral cowardice or surrender, but as responsible statecraft, a pragmatic balancing of principles with hard-headed national interests.
What stands out is Tharoor’s historical grounding: he reminds us how India, even under Nehru, often chose restraint when loud condemnation would have jeopardized vital relationships like avoiding harsh words against Soviet actions in Hungary (1956), Czechoslovakia (1968), or Afghanistan (1979) because Moscow was a key arms supplier and diplomatic partner. Today, the stakes are similarly high: energy security from the Gulf, remittances from millions of Indian workers there (nearly $200 billion in annual flows), and deepening strategic ties with the US amid rising Chinese influence.
By framing silence as a deliberate strategy preserving channels for quiet diplomacy, avoiding unnecessary confrontation, and prioritizing prudence over performative moralizing. Tharoor offers a refreshing counter to the “self gratifying denunciations” he critiques. In an era where India practices “multi-alignment,” engaging diverse powers without rigid ideological camps, this approach safeguards sovereignty, economic growth, and regional stability without compromising core values.
It’s particularly commendable that Tharoor, from the opposition benches, chooses nuance over partisan attack. He acknowledges the war’s unjustifiability under international law while arguing that foreign policy isn’t an academic seminar it’s about navigating power realities with wisdom, not bravado. This piece reinforces why Tharoor remains one of India’s most articulate voices on global affairs: principled yet pragmatic, idealistic yet realistic.
A strong reminder that true leadership sometimes lies in what a nation chooses not to say, when saying it loudly could cost far more than it gains. Well argued and timely! 🇮🇳

To every incredible woman who wakes up every day carrying strength, grace, dreams, and quiet resilience. Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸✨
You are the gentle heartbeat of families, the fearless voice in rooms that once stayed silent, the strong hands that build futures, and the fierce spirit that changes the world one brave step at a time.
Today we celebrate your light, your laughter, your leadership, and the countless ways you make life more beautiful and just.
But honestly… one day isn’t nearly enough to honor everything you are and everything you do.
That’s why every day should be Women’s Day.
